If you want to use a controller with NR2003, try using steering help, it really helps - I've even raced with a keyboard using that. Not easy, but it works. Also, if you want the Nikon car back, I painted it for the SNG 2003 mod, it's in the Stunod downloads, just saying :P ...oh yeah, and AI difficulty is weird at superspeedways, you should probably always race against 100% AI, otherwise they start checking up unnecessarily and it can really mess things up like when the field got separated in your first race here

What other NASCAR game lets you race what ever you want wherever you want while possibly being the most realistic NASCAR game ever made? That’s why this game is the best. Even if you don’t want to drive or can’t drive you can still have fun with it.

Have loved this game since it came out. I use the ICR mod and created a whole series and brought in a lot of older tracks including Riverside, Walt Disney, IRP, Myrtle Beach, Texas World, and Nazareth

My only experience with an iRacing game is last years World of Outlaws and noticed the AI (and physics) is so far ahead of other console racers. They need to do the same for a new standalone Nascar game!

I have no idea why didn't you make aa championship series on this game yet. Early 2000s? Cup2000 mod, S&G from 2003-2006 mods are absolute masterpieces. Splash&Go also made amazing 90s mod, Cup98. It's amazing Their mods have amazing damage models are the models world great with the game's AI. If I were you I'd begin a "career of some sort" series that would start in 1993 and end in let's say 2011. Each year, different paintscheme

Thanks for putting this together! I have never played NR2003 before, but I do I have copy of NR2002 (my favorite NASCAR game of all time) that I have put countless hours across more than a dozen full season into. I am looking forward to trying NR2003 for the first time.

To edit the ai, you can simply go to the track files. I highly recommend making the ai crash on their own. There are videos on it.

I have all the newer racing sims out there ( Except iracing , I let that lapse ) but I still have all my original Nascar 2000 , 2002 & 2003 , along with like 10 other's.....I had no idea that 2003 had mods!! I guess I never looked into it. I mainly run Assetto Corsa , RRE , AMS 1 and 2 and Rfactor 2 , but wanted a dedicated , some what upto date Nascar game.....and I've had it all along!! Thank you for this video. I'm doing some major investigating on this!

I'm proud (I think) to say, as a near 67 year-old, I have everyone of in the Papyrus NASCAR Racing series. NR-1 to NR2003. Also NASCAR Legends. You want hard to drive fast? Try NL. The true physics of a 3500 pound, 115 wheelbase, drum brake, big block (very front heavy) monster. If you can run Riverside, with no assists, competitively, right off the bat . . . you're my new hero.

By the way, I used to be part of the MasGrafx crew. Always in the top 3 of most popular NR sites. It got so popular that it shut down because too many of the artists started doing real schemes. After all, who wouldn't do the same thing you were already doing, but for money. I still have most of the files that I did from then. Cars, logos, numbers, numbersets, infield trucks, crews, etc. I need to figure out the best way to make them available . . . that is IF today's "painters" GIVE credit for the work they use, instead of TAKING credit for it. I always put a hidden thing in my stuff. I knew who you guys were . . .

I was watching/listening to this video while cooking so here are some video ideas I had 1. Since not all the 2022 tracks have been made for the game maybe a championship with the next gens but on an older schedule like the 1998 or 2000 seasons 2. Could also take a look at some of the goofier mods for the game like rainbow road and all the cursed versions of tracks like Daytona, dega, Texas, or Bristol. There’s also a car set that makes every car into a cube if I remember correctly

A fun challenge you can do on this game is live racing with the TV/Spectator/Helicopter camera. When you’re in the menu, you can hold down the C button, which will start changing your camera. While holding it down click on race or qualifying (or whatever you want to do) and it’ll glitch and start going through them. However if you try to change the camera you can’t go back to it. A fun challenge that I always did when I played this game.

This has gotten me curious on what NR-1 would look like at "full" graphics . . . never had a computer that could run it that way, before NR-2 came out, and ran that with downgraded graphics. That may be my first KZbin video, showing all of them at full graphics. Throw in the DTR series, Leadfoot and the other racing games I have that date waaaaaayyy back.

29:30 - You can clear a black flag in mutliplayer Races, you can add AI in multiplayer Races, so it's possible to create a server just for yourself to join and have AI, you can do roughly the same iRacing commands on NR2003 as long as you're in multiplayer.

I still have to get a copy of NR 2003... I already have NR4 which I got back in '01, about two weeks before Daytona and the passing of Dale Earnhardt... NR4 is a great simulator, but limited as compared to 2003... The modern iRacing is built from the old NR 2003 Sierra/Papyrus platform...

If you want to fix the frame drops you need the ram game upgrade download. Had the same problem with the 2019 cup mod and it fixed it.

The people who created this game created iRacing and used the code from this as a starting point to build iRacing. There is quite a story behind Papyrus and the NR franchise. It has gotten quite muddled over the years so I won't pretend to think I remember all of it. But it does have to do with the Fenway part of RFK Racing.

So I’ve been wanting to play NR2003, I can install and play it, but I have 2 big problems. 1: I don’t know how to connect my controller 2: when I have NR2003 installed, DCS World, the flight sim I play, takes a lot longer to load than usual. (I play DCS in VR btw) If anyone knows how I can get these 2 to be installed at the same time and not make DCS slower than the sauber F1 team, please let me know.

I will this, one mod is quite distracting, it’s one of the Truck mods, but they do have the updated roster with the paint schemes, however when 1st person the gloves and arms are very annoying in my opinion.

Depends on the 'mod'. We did a semi-mod for ARCA at MasGrafx years ago. It didn't change the .gns physics, but it was more than a carset. It also changed the pace car, Goodyear truck to a Hoosier truck, Cup trailer to ARCA-RE/MAX trailer, officials, added the RE/MAX banner on the windshield, Hoosier on the rear spoiler. I did a carset with pit crews for the generic multiplayer set. All of the cars came with individual driver, pit crew and pitbox graphics.

Search the net for your specific problem. Multithreaded processors, some old AMD processors, etc., can give you issues.
