How does the title fit? He know's she's the boss from the opening scene. And who wouldn't fall head over heals for her.

The mom's (Debra) tune changed at the end of the movie completely (almost like the movie didn't have an actual resolution so they just had to make her okay with the decision. Talk about your 180!

The owner of the flower store had the right idea - Valentine's Day is just a way to make more money. The world does not work in the manner shown in the movie, where a guy that lacks ambition (which is totally fine) gets the beautiful daughter of the boss. It is just too unrealistic. The daughter had the right idea when suggesting that perhaps she should just have a nice dinner with her mother. But I do think the guy did his very best. It is just that it would not have been enough in the real world. The movie is basically encouraging people in his position to work extra unpaid overtime with altogether unrealistic rewards dangled in front of them so bosses can continue exploiting their employees. As for writing a Valentine's Day card, that was about the only part of the movie which I thought was even remotely realistic and also quite a nice touch. The most realistic thing about it is that a guy with his sort of socioeconomic status would probably have been rejected by the girl before getting to write such a card and deliver it to her. Which is how it was here. Probably if someone has already written such a card, they are better off handing it over anyway regardless of whether the girl is still interested. I can also see why a girl might appreciate this to some extent But realistically someone in her position would get a much wealthier guy. Girls do not typically accept a husband who earns less.

You've been hanging out in the world of pessimists way to long, my friend.

@@truthspreader1996 I am fairly optimistic and try to see the good in people. But Valentine’s Day is obviously an artificial invention designed to make money at the expense of men. Instead of just randomly accusing me of being pessimistic, try arguing with what I said by pointing out positive aspects of relationships.

Why are most of these “romantic” movies centered around work relationships
