2:05 yes Joey, don’t illegally target the face of the game. Especially when that face of the game is gonna be the reason thousands of kids play the sport at all. The reason women turn up and watch it. Guarantee it’ll cost the nrl millions if clowns are allowed to illegally target Walsh and he has to retire early. Either the nrl comes down heavy on dirty play or if I was Kevin walters and Billy slater I’d be making sure to bring back the extremely violent protector of yesteryear when no one touched langer because Tallis would brutalise them. No one touched johns because chief would brutalise them. If the game doesn’t want that on tv than they must hammer who ever takes Walsh or anyone else high in a blatant attack to remove him from the game.

The main point is that now if a player is knocked out they are off for the rest of the match...that is huge factor with modern send off decisions

Actually Klein did everything he could for NSW for the rest of the match. If Walsh is off for the game and grub Suallaii comes back on after 10, it would have got very ugly

I'm a Blues fan all the way, but I think NSW took the wrong direction by only offering a 5 month position to the coach and I think Freddy probably deserved one more crack. He is after all NSW second most successful coach after Gus. I thought selections were also poor, particularly Hudson Young who basically lost us Game 1 last year, and Sualii who whilst a decent club player is clearly not ready for Origin. I also think Slater is an extremely good and shrewd coach so if NSW really want to win, they're gonna have to invest more in the coach and team than they are currently.

NSW just suck. They just don't get it. The old crew like Freddy, Danny Bederus, Brandy etc walked last year and now we are stuck with a washed up, has-been, ex-NRL coach that the wests tigers didn't even want, who wasn't even born in NSW, nor has he ever been in an origin camp before in his life. Most average punters have probably been to more origin games than him before. No soul, no substance, no DNA in this team whatsoever. You can't paper over the cracks by bringing in player x to replace player y. It doesn't matter what players play. The real issue is much deeper than cattle and NSW will not win another series in the 2020s with this same old mentality. Get ready for another QLD dynasty under Slater while NSW chase their tails trying to jag a series somehow. The best thing that can happen is we get smashed in every game and lose 3-0 and get rid of this coach who's gameplan is to just destroy one player. Look how that turned out lol.
