As a Red V fan, glad the club showed a spine and pulled the pin on this bloke, the club now has an identity and a great young core coming through, Hunt is a solid player bud never lived up to his price tag, wish him all the best but he is over the hill, and if he is continuing to agitate you let the player go. The Dragons number 7 was exactly where he was supposed to be in the run-up to the Finals. Number 6 however, was suspended after denying he was the cause of Critta's injuries. Bulldogs gave contemporaneous photographic evidence to the NRL and still number 6 denied it. Absolutely nothing to do with Ben Hunt.

Time to rip the band aid off. Well, I wanted them to do it a year ago. All respect to Hunt. He did a very good job. Whether he was consistently living up to his price tag is up for debate but I respect his efforts. It was just never going to work effectively after last year. Best for both to move on. Scary time for the Dragons but it was going to happen in a year or two anyway and Hunt would have been contributing on a diminishing level on the same pay. Best we get started ow on life without him.

This is not about Ben but another issue. For both Ezra Mann and Josh Ado Carr. Understandably they did wrong, young and nieve, still needing a lifeline. No need to tear up their contracts for first infringement. Give them at least 2 warnings but the third time they fail is final notice, yes tear up their contracts.

My biggest problem with Ben Hunt was pointing the finger at his teammates rather than lifting them to be better players. That's why he's never been a great player. Very good but not great.

Its rare i agree with much of what this club does. But it was nice to see them cut ties with this bloke who in my opinion was a terrible signing and massively over priced. Ben must be taking a huge pay cut to play for another club. In fact i cant see too many clubs scrambling for his signature. Hes too old and his form in the big games is consistantly bad.
