NRL definitely needs to start taking a hard stance on players moving forward. The great game we call rugby league is continually being jeopardised by such culprits. Players need to realise that it’s more than a game it’s there job and illicit drugs, drink driving etc is a sackable offence in most lines of work. NRL should have had a much harder stance on players being that they are supposed to be role models for kids and communities alike so is it the players or the NRL itself that needs an uppercut ? Example latrell Mitchell earlier in the year snorting a white powder that’s easy sack him ban him for 4 years. Ezra mam no licence on drugs car crash sack him ban him for 4 years. What’s more important the game or the names in the game ? Would soon teach players and fans that there’s no room in the game for such misconduct and disruption

Surely, in this day and age, of PROFESSIONAL footy, the SPORT deserves to be CLEAN. No ifs No buts. If you want to be on the blow, go play local park footy. You want to play first grade NRL, get a million plus salary, then you have to be clean. Mandatory drug testing. No ifs No buts. That’s the deal. If the powers that be don’t respond assertively, then this clean NRL facade will roll along until what?? ie, a player off his face, wipes another car out and people are killed, kill’s himself. As a longtime Broncos fan, I'm not sure what we want is even relevant. Its in the hands of the lawyers now. But if we look at the options... he gets the axe, goes to a different team and plays for them. If we keep him, there is a chance he learns his lesson and puts the selfish shit behind him and puts all his effort into helping the team. I think there is more to gain by keeping him and guiding him, but its up to the new coach and (ultimately) the police. Thank the stars that no one was killed. Bloody foolish way to fuck up your life.
