In our group, base class, are stock guns. See through scope mounts, low budget scopes, yes we use std. sights to shoot also. (That’s a game breaker) The same group of guys, with a different winner every time. That’s Competition!!!!

I just this very afternoon became the proud owner of a B22 Precision by Savage. My intention was to set my Vortex 6.5-20X50 Viper PA scope on top. Rifle $599, Scope $699, POOP! That’s not going to work. I know Altus, I shoot my 6.5 Creedmoor there from time to time. I may have even met you out there. If you have a way to contact you I would like to start a dialogue about becoming more active and pick your brain for an acceptable optic.

Question: I am shooting the same Setup Savage and Diamondback Tactical would you suggest a 30 or 40 MOA Pic. or just leave it at O MOA?

Great job Guy. I purchased the begara b14 r and it’s a tack driver and I put on a ELEMENT NEXUS 5-20-50. 1500 dollar scope. It’s like a 2500 dollar scope. Design by shooters for shooters. Ck it out Guy both are awesome I took 2 years of research 🧐 into this set up. The Bergara stock whoo heavy buddy. Don’t like color but I’m painting it. Keep videos coming. Bryan.

Great Video, but I used Norma Tac22 the other day. I could not get a solid group at 75 yards. Any clue? CCI SV 40g, I have no problems. I'd like to use, higher quality ammo.

All in. Rebuilt my Ruger 10/22 that was my first firearm (in 1980). Put a Nikon 3x9. Look foward to my first club match. Is a 10/22 with a new barrel, stock, and the Nikon scope base or open?
@AZHOTROD844 жыл бұрын
Dave Bosse that would fall in open sir
@irondog0684 жыл бұрын
@@AZHOTROD84 Well then open it is. Is it because of the new stock and barrel? I already put in a Volqurson trigger, hammer, and bolt hold open. Would a new bolt help at all? She already shoots better than me.
@AZHOTROD844 жыл бұрын
Dave Bosse A machine bolt would do better than an original bolt but keep shooting as is and once you’re out shooting the capability of the rifle then consider upgrading a bolt

Guy....I took your advice and my new CZ 457 Varmint should be here next week. I am going to add an Area 419 scope base, their bolt knob and their improved bipod picatinny rail. Wondering whether you would suggest the 15 MOA or 30 MOA rail. Thanks in Advance....Mark

Guy...like all the others...thanks for a very informative video. I am a senior that is re-discovering 22 cal after over fifty years. The Base class is where I intend to shoot. Makes me feel somewhat like a kid again. That being said I am on the fence over which rifle. I am considering the Savage Precision 22 #70248 and the Ruger Precision Rimfire #8400. Both these rifles have great features and retail for $599. That leaves me just enough room for a decent optic. I see you shoot Savage. Any particular reasons? Your input is appreciated.
@AZHOTROD844 жыл бұрын
Mark Nash-Ford yes sir. I do shoot a savage mkII FVSR. If you see my other videos you’ll see I built a new base class rifle. If 599 is your price point I would look at a CZ 457 varmint or pro varmint. It’s a better over all product than the Ruger or savage. Still to a of aftermarket options as well.

@@AZHOTROD84 Guy...thanks for your reply. So far you are the only person that I have been able to communicate with about NRL22 gear. It means a ton to me. Thanks for the info. 1) Do you feel that you are limited or handicapped by the fact that the Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50 FFP does not have a zero stop? 2) Does the parallax on the Vortex 4.5-27x56 Razor HD Gen 2 adjust down far enough for the close up targets found in NRL22 shoots? 3) In your opinion what are the best Base Class and Open Class optics for NRL 22 shooting? Thanks

You can get all the registered clubs at nrl22.org/clubs/ There is probably some other clubs that are not registered that may run the same type of matches. I looked and it appears there is a club called Sheepdog Warrior in Catskill NY. They list 8 rimfire matches per year. nrl22.org/clubs/sheepdog-warrior/ Go to one, bring your rifle, have fun....repeat. :)
@AZHOTROD844 жыл бұрын
best bet is to go to nrl22.org/clubs/ and look for a club in your area. Or hop on FB and join some group and ask about matches there. a Great group is Rimfire Tactical.
