Yes it was Rugby League season that included our foundation clubs in their identity; Eastern Suburbs Roosters South Sydney Rabbitohs North Sydney Bears Western Suburbs Magpies Balmain Tigers Newtown Jets we’re forced out in 84. The was no Super League and forcing of players idea of Ruby League. At that time Rugby League was already considering expansion and with the clubs that existed in NSWRL.

This wonderful woman was an honourary Australian. She knew when she was here she had an army of tough young men that would treat her as the Queen she was. Rugby League owed her a tremendous debt and every single person in our game would do anything we could to pay it back. She wanted nothing. She gained her most adoring fans right here. I never knew of this performance. Her command of the entire stadium all by herself, with no band, no dancers, no background singers, and the audience singing right along with her, is just beyond incredible. And she's enjoying every second of it.

SFS had 42,239 people there and majority of them were singing and waving the Winfield Cup, Dragon's and some Broncos flags as it was a Rugby League Campaign with Tina since the late 80's. Literally paid off in this one appearance as its still spoken about today

Tina was truly spectacular. She lived life on her terms. Women half her age could not match her energy, talent, and physical fitness. I was fortunate enough to see her live in concert once. And that was my thought exactly after leaving the concert. She never stopped on that stage. Her energy, charisma, and stage presence was like nothing I’ve ever seen before.

NRL, you have earned a special place in this American's heart for not just uploading this in FINE quality, but for recognizing and honoring and taking wonderful care of my lady Tina Turner. I am still weeping with loss and I came across this video - a copy of which I've watched so many times here on KZbin. You make it so obvious in this video that you and Australia did enjoy this FINE gift that came out of Tennessee. Tina so many times said that America forgot their stars between hit albums, but I never did. And I shall never forget the NRL for loving her and paying this tribute to my precious Tina Turner. May she rest in peace.
