Tina was massive in South Africa too. So was Mad Max. I think any nation that listened to rock and roll loved Tina too. She was so good and loveable and her natural energy on stage was felt deep in your soul. Rip beautiful lady.

Very true, she was big in South Africa, KY aunt saw her at the Joburg Colosseum in 1979. She was actually very huge internationally outside of the US

I agree 👍. I love Tina. The one song, I never liked, yet now appreciate, as I now know the significance of the subject matter, is... Nutbush.

Tina Turner refused to sing to a White's only audience in Apartheid South Africa. She got her way and returned in 1996 to a free country. Amazing.

That song in Mad Max 3 Really cemented the Mad Max trilogy of the time. Something special about that song and Era that you will never forget. Her songs really related to Australia, for some reason her music just seemed Australian.

TINA WAS SIMPLY THE BEST ..Australia loved her , and always will ! Beyond any epitaph that was used about her, spectacular, humble, a one off, Australians took her to our hearts and there she stays and always will.

During her forgotten years, Tina used to come to Sydney to tour the club scene which was a lifeline for many artists that were no longer hot. She would spend several months here every year.

By no longer hot he means the time when she had no hits, just after her divorce when record companies were not interested in her, the years leading up to her amazing comeback

I remember the first Ad and I was in awe that Tina was doing it. Australia loved her dearly and Roger Davies restarted her second career when America didn’t want to know. A bit like John Farnham but America and Australia were wrong with him. I have family who last year broke our own Nutbush record at the Big Red Bash. I think they are ready to double the amount of dancers. Tina’s light will always shine and she never signed a contract with Roger.

After living in England for a couple of years and went to a big pub lounge to hear a group called Keystone Angles (The Angles) and at the end of the bracket there was an announcement it was Nutbush Time and there was a stampede to the Dance Floor sat there wondering what the "F" then I heard the start of Nutbush City and had never seen anything like that before in Australia - In America they had all these dances for different songs but never in Australia and the incredible thing was how it spread Australia wide. after living in England for a couple of years and went to a big pub lounge to hear a group called Keystone Angles (The Angles) at the end of the bracket there was an announcement it was Nutbush Time and there was a stampede to the Dance Floor sat there wondering what the "F" then I heard the start of Nutbush City and had never seen anything like that before in Australia - In America they had all these dances for different songs but never in Australia and the incredible thing was how it spread Australia wide.
