One problem I have with how superhero stories are written is that they always try to blame the hero for never killing the villain, for fear of becoming worse than them, but no one ever blames the world the hero protects for allowing their "laws" to basically grant the villain permission to kill whoever they please. The heroes are trying to be guardians, not kings, they are literally giving US, the people IN CHARGE, as the ones responsible for their fate.

Batman also made use of secret bases around the world and magic to hide from the Regime. Then again the comic also has the entire Greek Pantheon wipe out all the other religions on Earth and Superman gets his ass kicked by Zeus who then loses to Shazam.

This whole situation teaches many valuable lessons. One of which being: Justice without hope and compassion is oppression. I love how the character endings also follow potential storylines from these two endings. Like Supergirl and Jaime having the potential to spearhead a new league. Or a Brainiac descendant who wants to find his own place in Superman's Legion. Though the one that really got me was the Flashs ending. His shows that at the end of the day their petty arguments and fighting once again mean nothing in the face of the next threat, the next enemy, or the next fight. At the end of the day, a league will always be needed to defend their reality, or in Green Arrow's terms all realities.

So, a little theory I have: I always thought that wasn't actually the Real Batman Superman fought, but rather some kind of copy, like a clone or android with his memories or skills. That way, in case he lost against the Man of Steel, he would still be able to continue resisting Superman's resurgent Regime while Superman believed he was no longer a threat. If you look at the cutscene that shows Batman pulling out the kryptonite suit, it seems to oddly to him immediately wearing it, without showing any sign of him putting it on. Just a fun little thought I have.

one thing that always annoyed me about superman stories is the times when superman gets angry when people say weapons/kryptonite should be stored in order to stop him. Like I understand he is usually a golden child but he is one of the most powerful being in existence and is the only one that is nearly impossible to beat, of course people should have a way to stop him if needed.
