The basic stance of Odissi dance which takes inspiration from odishan sculptures carved on the temple walls. These are like Alasakanya indolent damsels and musicians like Mardala, Bina badini , Manjira and Benu (flute) etc. This segment of these performances will make the sculpture dancing alive on stage. This is a pure dance number. This is a fast paced dance number carefully crafted to replicate the sculptures found in the famous SUN temple of Konark. The dancers effortlessly make transition between the two prominent postures of Odissi: Tribanga and Chouka. This presentation of pure dance has been choreographed by Smt. Meera Das to include Bandha Nrutya, an acrobatic form of dance.
