Ns Sw1000 is the bomb. 7yrs on it's still rumbling the house down. I'm old school, the heavier it weighs, the better it's. Just not sure why it's discontinued.

I have owned the NS SW300 sub for 8 years and I have to say it's way underrated. I recently got the SVS Pb 1000 Pro and I have to say the Yamaha beats the SVS in speed, impact and grip. The SVS is way softer and slower

Stupid question :D How do you connect it to the amplifier? And what are the 'to speakers' and 'to amp' plugs there? And you need a stereo Y RCA plug?

No vendors from that site say they deal with hifi, only pro audio. I've asked them all from the list. None of them carry Hifi equipment either.

Would like to buy this Subwoofer for electronic music like Hardstyle. How good does it draw the lower end of frequencies? It should go to at least 25 Hz.

+Edwin Mejia I was looking at the ns-sw300 then realized I didn't have enough space in my room to put it. Also, priced at 400€ where I live it was quite expensive for my budget (for a single speaker) so I ended up purchasing a Marantz amp and a pair of Cambridge Audio speakers. Believing or not I'm not missing any bass no matter what song i listen. midrange and treble are perfect for me too

There's always room for bass. It's not like you need furniture. I just got my set up too. Pioneer bookshelves and Onkyo amp. The Pioneer's 4" woofers have surprisingly good bass but I want more oomph. There's a new Pioneer sw-10 sub coming out so the old sw-e10 is half off. You should check it out.

I'm using a pair of YST-SW800s (1000w) with 10" drivers that go down to 18Hz. They shook my house so hard, I had to Acro jack brace it. Were around $2200.00 new way back when, but can be picked up now-days for around $500 a piece on eBay.

The ns-sw300 des not go down to 20hz as advertised. More like 30. With significant roll off.

you need the right amp, room space as well as a separate software calibration program for the 20. But it is possible, the YST allows that

@@juanbaclavab So I'm not wrong. Out of the box it doesn't work as advertised. I like this sub, it's got alot of oomph between 30-50hz. I just wish it went under the 30 out of the box.

@@irish7460 It doesn't work that. It's not a home theater in a box so don't treat it like that. Whatever high end sub like Velodyne DD, Jl audio or Rel you bring home you aren't going to hear below 30 if you don't spend time on setting it properly according to your room size ( a sub like a JL 113 it's never going to sound great in a small room for instance)
