As promised! Thanks for a great video. Love seeing HVAC system design being discussed more and more.

Te2 Engineering from Trethewey Mechanical Systems from Trethewey Plumbing I can't wait to see the next video. Ever since the first TOH episode I have geeked out on building sciences.

IRC doesn’t allow returns to be located in the kitchen, I’m surprised that you placed one there. Really interesting video, love the podcast and aspire to be on the building side of the business one day.

TOH and Kevin O’Connor better watch out! Great content!

Loran Hickton I think TOH must not be worried because they have a other costumers then the NS builder where it looks like there is almost unlimited budget

Another fantastic video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills with us. I noticed that the drywall stack leaning on the wall was not strapped. We have started having to strap all drywall stacks to the walls because of people being crushed to death on construction sites. Is this something you see in your area or was this just overlooked?

Looks awesome and can't wait to see the end result! Could someone please give a ballpark on price per sq.ft. on this house build? Just need to plan ahead. Thanks

Since comfort was a high priority, did you consider a high-mass hydronic (radiator) heating system?
@NSBuilders5 жыл бұрын
Darrin we did not, not on this project.

So your vapor barrier is on the interior because of the cold climate. Hot climates you do the opposite, correct? Where I live we see 100+ degrees in summer and below freezing in winter. What would the protocol be for my area when there's such a huge temperature swing?
@FixthisCD5 жыл бұрын
so do you use an interior vapor barrier with this wall assembly? I was assuming so because of the colder climate

"build tight, ventilate right" -how often should the entire volume of interior air be changed out? I heard 130 CFM from the video for the ERV,, but what does that translate into air-changes-per-hour?
@rosstrethewey93915 жыл бұрын
Andrew Theurer it depends on the size of the building and the number of bedrooms/people, but in this project 130 CFM translates to 0.35 ACH (air changes per hour). This turns out to be a good rule of thumb for residential applications.

Great video. I love hearing Ross talk like this. Sometimes on ATOH the topics they have him present on seem more targeted to an older generation that is very common sense and of little value to me.
@wolfgangselle43074 жыл бұрын
rap freak ... I think on ATOH is more done for “ normal “ people with a “ normal “ budget. What he is doing here needs bigger pockets and who can afford that? They will get it ...
