“NSCN (IM) IS COMMANDING THE TOTALITY OF NAGALAND GOVT.” - KK SEMA

Senior Citizen Association of Nagaland (SCAN) on October 18 charged the Nagaland government under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for complicity and for compromising the interest of the people of Nagaland by allowing the NSCN (IM) to take over complete control of the Intangki National Park. Addressing a press conference at Ura Hotel in Kohima, SCAN spokesperson, K. K. Sema said that during the mid-2019, there were rather serious rumors afloat that the managerial establishment of the Forest Department in the Intangki National Park including the staff quarters of the Forest Department had been taken over and was under complete control of NSCN (IM) and accordingly when it was made clear that the Forest Department was helpless in not being able to stop the NSCN (IM) cadre from their activities within the Intangki National Park. The Senior Citizens’ Association of Nagaland (SCAN) felt the need to act responsibly for the sake of our future generation and find out the veracity in this matter and on the 14th Sept, 2020, filed an RTI not directly to the Forest Dept., but to the Public Information Officer (PIO); Interlocutor & Governor’s Secretariat; Raj Bhavan; Govt. of Nagaland, Kohima. Advisor, SCAN, K. Seyie said Intangki National Park is the heart and the lungs of the people of Nagaland and of the world. Therefore, it shall have to be protected, reserved and preserved at all cost to prevent climate change and ecological imbalances for the posterity for their survival

This very pan Naga council, if implemented for real, will be the biggest industry of corruption and the centre of all misdoings in our Naga society of Nagaland. It will be only a Pandora box for Nagas of Nagaland. Though some section of the people will benefit with this setup, common Nagas of Nagaland will be completely compromised in every sector and field if this institution is established. Therefore young people today needs to pay heed to this ongoing issue without saying it has nothing to do with them. If we analyse properly, from unemployment to all social issues prevailing, this Naga issue is the main cause which has plagued Nagaland for decades. Therefore we have to raise our voice if we want to really move ahead with the rest of the world with the same pace and momentum. Hebron camp not within jurisdiction of the Ntangki National Park: villages clarify 23rd October 2022 Peren, October 23 (MExN): The Old Jalukie, Jalukiekam, Beisumpui and Beisumpuikam village councils today clarified that the NSCN (IM) designated Hebron Camp is “not within the jurisdiction of the Ntangki National Park.” In a joint statement, the Old Jalukie & Jalukiekam Villages and Beisumpui & Beisumpuikam villages as “landowner villages of Hebron Camp and Ntangki National Park” respectively informed that the land for the Hebron was donated by Beisumpui Village, but the Camp is within the jurisdiction of the Old Jalukie Village, the original landowner. “The boundary between Jalukie and Beisampui is clearly marked by the Mungleu River so there is no room for confusion and misunderstanding,” it added. The joint statement came against the backdrop of the recent press conference by the Senior Citizens' Association Nagaland (SCAN), which as per the villages, “falsely inferred” that the Hebron Camp was within the jurisdiction of the Ntangki National Park. The four village councils also rejected the insinuation by the SCAN that “some sort of arrangement is being made to rehabilitate the NSCN (IM) cadres inside Ntangki Forest post Naga Solution.” ‘The fact is that, neither the Government of India nor the landowner village will allow for parting any land within the Ntangki National Park to whomever for whatsoever reasons as the park is nationally recognised and is in existence for the benefit of the whole Nagas,’ the joint statement declared. It further reminded that the Hebron camp was established during the Chief Ministership of Dr SC Jamir at Forest Colony, in late 1990s, outside the jurisdiction of Ntangki National Park. When Jamir was the Chief Minister of Nagaland, the resettlement of NSCN (IM) cadres to the present location was finalised, and therefore asking questions to present CM Niephiu or former CMs Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu or TR Zeliang is “illogical and incomprehensible,” it added. Further, the resettlement was done outside the park at the then Forest Colony of the Forest Department, which was recently affirmed and validated by the Director of NTangki National Park, it pointed out. In addition, the four villages also stated that there is an agreement and condition that in the event of NSCN (IM) leaving the camp, the land will be repossessed by Jalukiekam and Jalukie villages, the original landowners, it added. Accordingly, the joint statement called the claim of “Hebron Camp is within Ntangki National Park” as either ignorant ‘misinterpretation or intentional claim’ to deprive the Jalukiekam Village to take back possession of the land. It may be also a ploy to declare that "part or the land as 'No Man's Land', as was done in the past, by vested individuals to encroached upon the land in the future for their personal interest,” it stated. For any clarification anyone is most welcome to approach Beisumpui Village Council and Old Jalukie Village Councils, it added. The four villages also put on record that the correct spelling of the park is "Ntangki" and not "Intangki."

It's undeniable fact that back in 90s the Forest dept suffered , killed and finally had to abandon the quarters presently called HEBRON. The blame is to be lashed on the forehead of the Govt back then but with time things, situations and the steps taken by the dept to protect and preserve the Ntanki has changed as of now. Ntanki is reserved forest that belongs to the NAGAS, it's our wealth and so to let any selfish naga parasites under the banner of Naga Nation take hold of our wealth is unacceptable... PAN Naga is a clear visible threat future to Ntanki National Park and a serious matter for the Nagas to ponder upon before time runs out... While appreciating the Senior Citizens once again for the concern and coming forward with this issue in the interest of the whole nagas is applaudable, the Nagas should not be misled by false black dotted allegations.. Since 2008 after the inception forest arm protection force and deployment of personls into Ntanki park, there had been numerous false allegations every now and then that the Dept were compelled to digest. The state Dept. sweats to protect and preserve Ntanki but the Govt of the day shows half heartedness and little or no interest for the safeguard of the park has become a grave concern. One most LAUGHABLE false info that even Forest Dept had to take permission to enter Intanki National Park, is a WONDER and jaw dropping allegation pointed out before the media and to the Nagas.... The public should not be carried away by such info and allegations..... Come one come all into the field and see the ground reality of WHO NEEDS PERMISSION to enter reserve forest. If any shortcoming on the part of the Dept.pops put the Blame on the forehead of the Govt.

Are nagas of nagaland welcomed to buy land set up business and live in ukhrul or in naga inhibited areas in Assam? Will we be welcomed and be able to claim any equal rights there? No. Are the nagas living in manipur or Assam doing any struggle/sacrifice to free their land and join nagaland state ? No. So isn't it the policy of "what you have is ours but what i have is mine" ? Of course it has to be clear on which nagas are from nagaland state and who are not. There is reason here to be misunderstood.
