Chen is korean but he was originally put in the exo-m subunit (at the beginning when they had ,,12 rip oooof,, 6 of them were in exo-k which promoted in korean and then the other 6 were in exo-m who promoted in mandarin.) There were only 4 Chinese members so both Chen and Xiumin (also korean) were added to exo-m. That's why they have Chinese stage names, because they were mostly promoting to the chinese market. :) Edit: I wrote that at the beginning of the video i see you've googled it lol

Chen is definitely one of the best vocalist in KPOP for sure. He's just amazing and talented. When you hear his voice you can tell he has passion and emotion, I can't even explain how incredible his voice is. And he's soooo kind and humble.....I think he can be everyone's boyfriend lol HE'S JUST AN AMAZING PERSON, that's it. (Sorry if my english is bad)

Random fact: All EXO members except Chen are drama/movie actors. Chen doesn’t want to take acting. He do Musicals though since he loves to showcase his singing more. Among EXO, Chen is their pride when it comes to vocals. Experts say he has the clearest voice and best vocal techniques among EXO. He also has the lowest and the highest note in the group. He’s in the Top vocalists of Kpop over all. Aside from that, he’s personality is very warm. Fans say he’s a boyfriend material. He’s very sweet & caring. Next is Baekhyun, another great vocalist of EXO but is also an all rounder. The ‘Genius Idol’ as what the kpop industry dubbed him. Plus, the cutest puppy that will make you want to keep him.

Chen (Kim JongDae) and Xiumin (Kim MinSeok) are the Korean members of EXO-M which was the Mandarin Chinese sub-unit in EXO. So SM gave them stage names that sounded more Chinese to help them fit in better in the Chinese sub-unit and to help their Chinese fans to better relate to them and remember their names.That is also one of the reason why Chen and Xiumin are so close because they are the 2 Korean members of EXO-M and as the non-Chinese members of the Mandarin sub-unit they were each other's support system in the group. As foreigners in their sub-unit who were not fluent in Chinese, they had to rely a lot on their Chinese members to help them communicate and to teach them about the language and culture in the beginning. They spent the first few years in EXO doing a lot of promotions in China and they were away from home a lot, so they looked to each other for comfort and support. So all this time spent together allowed Chen and Xiumin to really get to know each other and they became kindred spirits because they went through everything together -- something the other members, except Lay (the only native Chinese member still in EXO), can't quite relate to in the same way. Plus, Chen and Xiumin also are members of the sub-unit EXO- CBX (Which includes Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin -- hence the name CBX) which makes them even closer.

Chen is his stage name because he is under EXO-M which are the Chinese members but since he is actually Korean they gave him a Chinese name, same with Xuimin because he is also under EXO-M but is Korean. They did it most to be even, 6 korean and 6 chinese. So the older Chinese versions of albums he would sing in those without the other Korean members. So he sang both Chinese and Korean alot.

Chen was one of the Korean members in EXO-M, the subunit that promoted in Mandarin Chinese, so they gave him a stage name that's more Chinese. The other Korean member in EXO-M was Xiumin, who's real name is Minseok and was also given a Chinese stage name. Alright, I forgot this info is at the end of the guide video, but here it is anyway. The song Kevin liked at 4:35 is Sing For You, the title track for their 2015 Winter Special Album. Chen is the first member you're seeing who is in the subunit EXO-CBX. EXO also has another subunit EXO-SC (Sehun and Chanyeol), but they debuted after these guides were made. Whereas CBX already was a unit when these guides were made. Baekhyun and Xiumin are the other members of CBX. 6:30 shows Hey Mama! CBX's debut song. That one part was on JYP's show Party People, which is why he's in the clip. 17:08 The cover of The War album is a spread out Bird of Paradise flower. It's not that the guides are outdated, there's just a lot more information that can be added. They're still really helpful and to me the best member guides for EXO. Also, I'm sure I'm repeating information I've commented before as well as repeating information other people probably made in comments, but no hurt in making sure you guys have the information down. I'm also pretty sure all the guides say visual. Because every member of EXO _is_ a visual.

Lol that guy was not Chen, his name is Yoo Jaesuk and he is very famous and I consider him the Nation's MC. He is on many variety shows and everyone in Korea knows him. He did a collab with EXO because of a show he is on that had him do it and its called "Dancing King" which fits Jaesuk because a inside joke of his is being the dancing king on one of my favorite variety shows, Running Man. He dances and sings in the song/performance. He is also the guy in the middle with glasses at 7:02 on one of the many shows I said he is an member of.

EXO had two subunits EXO-K (promoting in korea and responsible for exo korean version songs) and EXO-M (more on promoting in china and responsible for exo mandarin versions songs) but time passed by exo-k and exo-m promoted together, chen and xiumin are the only korean members of EXO-M. After how many years, a subunit EXO-CBX (ChenBaekXi) debuted where they promote in Korea and Japan but now they are in hiatus bc xiumin enlisted already that's why baekhyun and chen debuted this year as soloists but still promoting with their group who just had a comeback. Chen is good in high notes but his lower register notes are good too! He's not just a whining, screaming and loud member tho all members consider him as the kindest member of their group even members asking him to get mad sometimes etc lol and i remember d.o said that chen gives them energy he's like an energizer to members and staff. Members, staff, managers, other idols and other people always compliment him on how versatile and kind he is. He is known as donation prince also, he always donate that's why his fans decided to donate more too! He debuted solo this year i hope you'll get to check his debut album (April and a flower) and comeback album (Dear My Dear). Thank you!

Kim Jongdae is a wonderful person, inside and outside EXO. He is humble, real, kind, he loves his family and EXO as well. If you were trying to say you don't see artist collab often or perform, there is actually many performances and actual songs of artist from different companies collabing. There is a whole video on almost all collab performances, there are collabs between Twice, Gfriend, Seventeen, and Got7. Got7 and BTS. Monsta X, Got7 and NCT and many many more. Give me a few artist and I could recommend some collab performances for you to watch, maybe not react but at least see for yourself.

JYP was in that clip because Chen and the rest of EXO were on JYP's variety show called JYP's Party People. It is a show where JYP invites Kpop groups and artists on the show (and most of the time his guests aren't even from his company) and they sort of party with him. Its kind of like a small club concert setting where the guests talk and perform for the audience.
