I understand what you said about bts blowing up only since last two years. Ppl call bts overrated and getting too much attention. But the fact is that they debuted in 2013 their first daesang was in 2016 and they only blew up outside after 2017 bbmas. Nobody at my clg knew bts before the bbmas but after their win there so many non kpop fans asked me about “isnt that the band you listen to?” Even i was shook😂 so their popularity started booming up in 2017 and its only 2019 now they have miles to go to even go down lol😈

if i remember well the thing with the military exemption was that a lot of ceo’s from the biggest entertainment companies in korea were having meetings with korean politicians to bring up the conversation of artist being exempted from serving but the things was that out of all the companies that were there big hit was not one of them but those other companies used bts’s success as a prime example as to why some artist should be exempt when in reality neither bighit or the members of bts have expressed that they were ever not gonna do military service
