I've had my gyro ball for over 10 years. I bought it at a promotional stall at a cycling event. It's a great exercise and gives you something to do while you're lounging on the sofa - something I think we've all found ourselves doing a lot more often these days. I bring it with me everywhere, and it shows no sign of breaking. I lost the string many years ago, but I can still get it going against a flat surface. When I introduce my friends to it, they can never get it going on the first few tries. If you just stumbled across this video, or if you're looking to rehabilitate an injured wrist or arm, stick with it! Be patient - once you understand the rhythm of spinning, you won't forget - it's like riding a bike. Like the man said, it's hard to describe, but you can tell it works because you can feel that lactic burn in your forearms. I'm frankly shocked this isn't more of a mainstay of rehabilitation. It's brilliant.

I ordered this product 2 weeks ago because I am a photographer for the outdoor industry; and I now have tendinitis in both elbows. The last thing I want to do is have surgery. Almost all of my jobs require me to quickly grab my Canon 1Dx equipped with a 70-200 zoom lens and shoot quickly and proficiently. This camera system weighs about 4.5 pounds. After using the Powerball for just a few days, I can already see a difference in my stability from my upper arm to my wrists. Why did I not know about this product years ago! This is not a advertisement. This tiny little object will save my career! Thank you Rory for guiding me through this process all the way from Ireland.

The company I work for - BeamNG - bought these for everyone on the team for Christmas! I thought I had to roll it on my desk to spin it up, and then didn't know I had to encourage the gyroscopic motion! This video has helped us all figure it out and we're all exhausted from it now hahaha, this thing is really fantastic, especially for those of us who sit at our desks most of the day! This is an amazing product! I’ve been injured off and on over the years due to tendinitis, or tennis elbow. I’ve had physical therapy for it only to return to injuries (both elbows). I was recently out of working out for 3 months, doing my usual therapy and tried the Powerball after a friend told me how it helped his golfers elbow. In just 2 months of doing this for 2 minutes a day, I’m back in the gym and doing amazing! And my forearms are more defined! I highly recommend this and wish I knew about this when playing baseball when I was younger!

Just got mine a couple days ago. It’s amazing. My wife and two sons have all had a go at it and we’re all blown away at how effective it is. It doesn’t take long to get that lactic acid build up and have fatigue set in, but I know it’s going to pay big dividends in finger, hand, wrist, forearm and upper arm/shoulder, strength and endurance. I can’t believe I did not know about this remarkable technology a long time ago.

Guys if you have problems with speeding it up after launch try moving your wrist right 180 degrees (at that moment powerball is at top) and then move it again to base position (180 deg to left, so your powerball is at bottom) and keep repeating. That's the only way I got it spinning. Works even for low RPMs.

Thanks to your video instruction and demo, I am starting to get the hang of it. I didn't realize you need to have a slow wind up to get it going. I was trying to rotate quickly at the beginning and kept noticing it dying over and over again. I'll try it a few more times and if it works for me, I'll keep the product.
@rpmpower4 жыл бұрын
Hi Victor, how did you get on? It's just a matter of getting in phase with the rotor and when the rotor is spinning slowly (at the start), it's much easier and much more likely you'll get in phase/sync by using slow, rhythmical, lazy rotations of the wrist (about 1 rotation per second) and then increase them as the speed builds (you'll know you're in phase simply as you'll feel the resistance fight you...it's a surreal feeling...gyroscopic precession...if you don't get in sync then the rotor will stop after 15/20 seconds and you'll be thinking 'man, this is broken' when it's not and you're probably just 0.5sec out of time...practice...practice...like riding a bike, hard to teach with a video or instructions but oh so easy once you 'feel it' yourself!) @@rpmpower Hello Rory, Thank you for your reply. I got my powerball a few days ago and I am getting better at keeping the powerball going, so far I love it! It is an interesting product and afterwards I feel a nice pump on my arms. I have a question, when switching the powerball from one hand to the other do I need to stop it and start over or can I just switch it over to my other hand. It seems everytime I switch it over it clacks a few times until I'm able to get to the rythym going again. I have even tried slowing it down before switching over but it still clacks a few times. I'm asking because I was curious to know if this causes wear and tear on the powerball, even though its more natural for me to go from one hand to the other a few times over, but if its better I stop and start over I would do that instead. Thank you.
@rpmpower5 жыл бұрын
Greetings and thanks for your message (I am sorry for my delayed reply). In this case, it is not necessary for you to stop the ball before changing hands - I know the noise you're describing, it's just the momentary noise that the axle makes as the 'Y' axis switches direction. In the older models, this would actually cause a little wear inside (on the rotor support band at the points where it supports the steel axle at both ends), but on these latest models (280Hz series) the shock resistant shell in these models, combined with the harder material we use for the washers that reinforce the rotor support band inside, ensures a far more durable rotor support band and shell platform so any wear effect caused by rapid 'Y' axis rotational switching (as is happening when you swap hands) is minimal to non-existent (of course, if 'Y' axis rotation switches from clockwise to anticlockwise violently then it's not good...but "gentle" switching like you describe is ok). Hope this helps! With best wishes, Rory @@Blueflame252
@TheSaint1355 жыл бұрын
@@Blueflame252 your biggest concern when switching hands should be to not touch the fast spinning rotor. If you do, at best you could stop it or slow it down, and at worse it could hurt your finger (not badly, but still why not avoid it?)

Please allow me to offer a testimonial to the benefits of the Powerball. I'm 70 years old, and for the last 10 I've had increasing problems with arthritis in my hands (rheumatoid) and shoulders (osteo). It especially concerned me as I've played electric bass professionally since I was in my teens, and I'm still out there working clubs and festivals. I was thinking the arthritis was going to put an end to my playing...and then I ran across a mention of the Powerball in (of all things) a book on pistol marksmanship. (The author, Chris Sajnog, recommended it as a tool for developing one's grip and recoil control.) I've only been using the Powerball for a week or so, but the benefit has absolutely amazed me. Finger dexterity, wrist and forearm comfort, shoulder flexibility--all are much improved. This gadget is a modest amount of money _very_ well spent, in my experience.

A good score indeed....for a young teenage girl :-))) No, seriously, it's ok, but once you get the co-ordination sorted to auto pilot, and have been using it for a week or two, you'll see those spin speeds creep up to 10,000....11,000+ Anything above 11,000 is respectable for an adult male...12,000 puts you into the top 5%...13,000 is top 1% while 14% and above is super elite level but can be reached with dedication and long practice. One tip: don't over do it until your muscles familiarise themselves with this new form of exercise...while Powerball is a physio recommended treatment for upper limb RSI, it can also potentially cause RSI if you spin too hard and too fast before warming up or before your muscles are strong enough to support those high speeds (think of it as picking up a dumbbell that's too heavy for your arm...you'll tear those tendons trying to lift the dumbbell just as you'll hurt them by trying to go flat out with your Powerball before they're ready...it's not a toy!)...spin slowly and gradually build speed...as you do, your tendons will turn to "steel" and keep your arms pain free and strong from finger tip to shoulder!

nsdpowerballs Thanks for the warning ⚠️ I’ll take it easy for the first few weeks (hey, I wish I was a teenage girl, next week I’m turning 45 years old , that’s why I need to stay in shape way more than I ever did. 🤣🤣🤣 I hope my forearms develop resistance and endurance, most go kart drivers that I know have to stop driving as soon as their forearms get tired, and that can easily happen after a short period of driving, especially if you are driving on the limit, which is what we all do. It would be go to advertise the powerball in the karting world. I’ve found out about the powerball after a friend suggested it to me, otherwise I didn’t know they existed.) Thanks! 🙏

I'm really pleased with mine but don't think it can't help my Herberden's node on my little finger. Also growing on other fingers of the hand I broke. Any tips/suggestions?
@rpmpower2 жыл бұрын
Sophie, good day, thank you for your message. It's important to keep your joints mobile without overstressing them. Powerball stimulates blood flow and synovial fluid production to help joints to 'slide and glide' as it were, and so, technically, it ought to be helping this condition also. However, these nodes are at the very outer joint on the fingers (near the tips) and so it's a difficult area to rehab from the standard spin action you're likely doing if you've followed our videos. There is one video that I'd like you to consider watching which specifically targets the fingers; kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGLKdWlqab91oqM This encourages you to hold the ball by the finger tips as opposed to the standard way of burying it into the palm and so will focus the resistance on the tips and should be useful in this case Sophie (gentle, slow spinning required here as you're holding the ball by the tips only). Albeit I'd suggest supplementing any Powerball use with some basic squeeze balls and/or finger stretcher bands to encourage broader use of the finger flexors to really try drive the synovial fluid production and blood flow. Be careful not to overwork the fingers; your joints are inflamed and while Powerball and the other two products are non-impact you'll nonetheless need to be mindful of the existing wear on the cartilage and ensure you work your way up slowly in any exercise program you undertake. Hope this helps and with best wishes, Rory

The LED version, does it have batteries inside? Like when it dies it dies or are we able to change the batteries?

Greetings and thanks for your question. The 280Hz range are all induction powered - both the LCD display and the rotor LEDs (assuming the model has an LCD and rotor LEDs of course, some have neither) so no batteries required on 280Hz models. 250Hz models with LEDs are also induction powered on the rotor LEDs but require two small batteries for the LCD counter 👍

ive hurt the outside tendon of my wrist from tennis. Hope this helps
@rpmpower Жыл бұрын
Hi Cory, yes indeed, it'll help immensely. Remember, if the limb is injured, it's not about high-speed spins, it's more about longer, slower spins (10 - 15 minutes each time at slow, steady speeds) - that will bring lots of blood and oxygen into the tissue and promote far more rapid healing. Just ensure you don't exceed a comfortable spin speed, only you will know what that is. Relief will be immediate. Best wishes, Rory

I have a question, I know we aren't supposed to be using our arms, but is there a specific arm posture that we need to use this? I want to be sure not to injure my arms. I love this product, but I want to make sure I'm using it correctly.

Sir is it good for hand fingers pls advise??
@rpmpower Жыл бұрын
Greetings and thanks for your question. Yes, especially if you extend the ball outward from the palm such that it's supported by the fingertips around the grip band; this places additional pressure on the finger flexors which are more actively engaged in trying to maintain a grip on the ball around its circumference. In such cases, the spin speed will be lower than if the user has the ball 'buried' more deeply into the palm (ie, the normal way to hold the ball), where it can be held more securely by the hand and have the entirety of all fingers envelop the shell. Overall, a really great product for the fingers, hand, wrist, forearm and shoulders. Hope this answer was helpful. Best wishes, Rory
