This is indeed the best NSF show interview with Mike and Garrett. Love the stories and camaraderie. No need to Q&A, just sit back and listen to the stories.

Being non-American, I was inspired to go onto Wikipedia and read their history. Wow and wow! Both very smart engineers. And fun to listen too. They just bounce off each other.

08:30 When Mike came back from the Hubble repair he told the story how breaking off the handrail on Hubble reminded him of his uncle -Romeo- *[edit, I misremembered this, just found a video were he said his name]* Frank loosen the oil filter on an old Buick.

SpaceX had 98 launches in 2023 and have 145 on the books so far for 2024, but that's likely to increase. The explanation about Starship Test 2 is incorrect, they didn't carry "extra oxygen", they had the "normal" amount for flight, but without a payload, they ended up with excess oxygen, because normally it would have been burned to lift the payload. If they had just waited until after the engines had finished firing to dump the excess, it wouldn't have caused the explosion. Easily fixed for Test 3.

I agree. Too, easy software fix for the booster. Just start the burn, a little later, and allow fuel to settle. 🙏. 👽🤠
