I just went to NSSF's website to the contact us page and left a note regarding this message and requesting an explanation for their lack of support for their report. Also pointing out that as a consumer I don't have direct impact on their organization , but shooting sports is in their name and they need to step up and support these efforts.

NSSF is just the NRA 2.0. They are not our friend and never have been. They worry about selling guns by their members and nothing more than that by what I have seen in watching for decades. Right now, the Maryland case is being proposed at the Supreme Court and that’s the first full assault weapons band lawsuit that has gone through the full courts where the Supreme Court can actually look at now. There was four other ones in the past that tried but Supreme Court said no but now we got different justices that will have a good chance of looking at it now.

Isn't that refusing admittance of exculpatory evidence (Evidence that could prove your side wrong, and affirm opposing side)? Last I checked, that is quite illegal; even if the evidence is 'expert testimony'. as long as the dude has been subpoenaed (forced) to testify as 'expert witness' under oath...there should be no 'excluding the evidence'. Sure the argument about exculpatory evidence is usually in criminal cases; but it applies to civil cases as well (or challenges laws).

the 'police report' is a bad analogy. In many states police reports are accepted by the courts as admissible evidence (although not necessarily 'accurate' evidence). The officer need not show up to the trial for that report (in/of itself to be admissible) ...its the same thought process (authoritarianism) that a judge can be called by phone at 2am, and (not being 'on clock', 'in their chambers') issue a warrant for blood draw on a DUI suspect, with no evidence provided to the judge (officers statements = not evidence at this point), and usually w/

Ouch, my opinion / guess is there was something in their report that they realized wouldn't stand up to scrutiny that would make them look bad, even if the report as a whole still stood, and that NSSF didn't want to subject themselves to that -- That they put themselves in a a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" position and they decided this was the lesser of two fallouts.

This is where it Get's sticky... Magazines are not "Arms" and therefore they can limit the capacity of said Magazines to no less than the magazines in use by the Military.. which is 30 rounds... That is like they can ban suppressors all together as they are not considered "Arms"... They can ban open carry so long as they do not ban concealed carry... this is constitutionally sound as your second amendment rights are still in tact... These lawyers have absolutely no clue how to defend the Second Amendment, all they want is your money.... The Lawyers can win any 2A related case by making the defendant "The Government" prove constitutionality.... In the original Militia Act, you were required to have 20 rounds at all times... That is the amount of ammo kept on hand by the Military at the time as a minimum requirement... The Militia Act has not been repealed ... Not even the NG or Reserves cancel out the Militia act... So, NAGR, I have a couple questions for you, and would like an honest answer: I understand that members and those in leadership will refuse to vote for Trump in November. Is it correct to assume that you wish to gives the keys to the Oval Office to a democrat, for another at least 4 years? Is this due to the massive fundraising you can achieve with a democrat gun banner in office (good for business)? Do you really believe that people like me will give a penny to an organization that blatantly allows a domestic enemy of our Bill of Rights to seize power, either through your actions or inaction, direct or indirect? By refusing to vote, are you voting for Harris/Walz by proxy? I understand how pissed we all were with Trump when he did the Bump Stock crap, during his term, as well as the "take the guns, and go to court later". As far as choices in this election, tell me which one is best, as far as being good for our 2A rights. I hope you don't say it is the Libertarians, as they have an open communist on their ticket this year. If you will be voting for democrats (or not voting this year), please be forthcoming with that info, so we know the truth. If you fail to answer, I will assume you have joined the democrats, and will spread the word widely (and will make sure what I tell people isn't libel or slander, according to law).
