NSW Police - Signal One (Officer Assulted) Response

NSW Police responding to a extremely urgent call involving one of there own turned on by a angry group of 30. in this video you will see police cars from Newtown LAC, Leichhardt LAC, Redfern LAC and Leichhardt Highway patrol. All officers are ok. (phone died during NT10)

Calls for an urgent assist will just about get anybody and everybody within the area. Years ago in my area a police officer was bashed during a routine traffic stop. He managed to shoot both offenders with the one bullet! When the urgent call went out, just about every officer responded. One cop had no choice but to respond in the only available means-a speed camera van. Back in those days the media monitored emergency services radios, so the job was given to us via the phone. Didn't realise there were news cameras until watching it on the news the next night that the TV crews still managed to get there in good time. Thankfully they were across the highway doing their job, and giving us space to do ours. My wife has heard the story a hundred times, and every time we drive past that location I tell it again.

Tones1786 Nope it’s an FGX XR6T, you can see super clearly at 1:43. In the highway patrol fleet only around 10% of Falcons are V8 XR8s, the majority are police pack inline6 turbos. Only commodores in the highway patrol fleet are V8s only because the V6 commodores are only “silver” rated while the V8s are “gold” rated which HWP requires

Tones1786 The XR6T police pack cars have super reflective 18” alloys (which you can not option as a private buyer) commonly found on the FPV BF Typhoons while the XR8s have factory standard 19” alloys more commonly found on FPV FG GTs. My car is a 2016 FGX ex NSW HWP from pickles about 9 months ago with 81000km. And yes it had an in-line 6 with 18” alloys, when I was there the other 2 FGXs were also all XR6Ts, not a single XR8 to be seen

About 5 years ago i was coming home and got off at chatswood station..i was waiting for my Maccas order..whilst waiting 2 young constables were talking to some young smart arse kids that frequented the station. Before i knew it these 2 cops were in over their heads and were being overwhelmed by about 10-15 angry youths. Before i knew it i realised that these 2 cops were minutes away from getting smashed. I pulled out my phone and called 000. Talking to the operator i was asked something like this " are the police being assaulted , being attacked or in danger" to which i did answer yes. I was told to stay on the line. Within minutes cars marked and unmarked turned up trying to calm the situation. At that point another 10- 15 youths had now joined in the scuffle. During this time the public order and riot police turned up in their trucks and then all hell broke lose. I remember one cop on the ground being attacked by 3 youths. It was at this point i got actively involved and got into it with the police helping pull these kids of this cop on the ground . At this point again more heavy duty cops arrived and i will never forget the smell of mace .

Nobody does, but assaults against frontline workers are unfortunately on the rise.

@@raptor9813 So many people who would thank you for that. Working in an environment where you have traumatic situations, emotions go through the roof. Too many don't handle such situations well, and release the fears, tears and anger on whoever's closest; usually frontline workers.
