I saw them in concert ahead of Christmas during their No Strings Attached tour. They were singing O Holy Night instead of their other a cappella number I Thought She Knew. It's my favorite Christmas song and was just a fantastic to hear and feel in person. @@normagilpin7841

N'Sync needs to promote this aspect of their history more. This arrangement is especially difficult, even by acapella standards. Alternate chords, tons of movement, switching assignments/parts left and right, controlled head voice use, no safety net - this is legit! And they tweaked a tuning or two at the beginning, so it's reasonable to think it's genuinely live, unaided. N'Sync got a lot of stereotyping, and played into it sometimes, but this is above criticism. Musicality, baby.

Joey never gets enough credit for holding down those baritone harmonies...his voice never carries a lead or a bassline, his notes are all color and damn he just fits them in there. He might've never been featured that much, but he could sure hold his own.

This is the best version of O' Holy Night ever. I never heard it acapella before. This CD came out I think it was 1998. It's sad to see that guys in the music industry in general doesn't sing this way anymore. Ok maybe a solo artist, but not a band. It makes you look back and really respect and appreciate boy bands even more. The 90's and early 2000's were really special. Can 1 Dimension, I mean 1 Direction do this? I think not.

However, they have superior talents, especially compared to today’s singers. It was just a different vibe back then. It was more chill and no frills kind of thing. It was more about the music. And truly I admire them for singing songs the way they’re meant to be sung-for instance, the national anthem-while bringing their own style to it.

Origin Music Finally someone who understands some music lol. This song and I Thought She Knew in particular have some interesting chords. One Direction mostly sang simple 3 part harmonies (with some parts obviously being doubled). Pretty easy for any singer to learn. But I’ll say in their defense, they all started out as solo singers and were basically forced into a group, whereas *NSYNC was formed as a vocal group from the start.

Nsync's beautiful harmonies are even nicer to hear when they perform a song acapella. And there are few songs more beautiful than "O Holy Night". Great job, guys!

People overlook that the sound engineer is really the real MVP. Acapella performances are super delicate in the fact that the person running the board needs to get each vocalist's levels/cuts/EQs on point AND mix them well together so they can sound good as NSYNC did in this classic instance. If the mix sucks ass, the sound and the performance will go accordingly, even if the vocalists are on point themselves.

Why are we fighting about NSYNC and BSB? You can love both equally. Nothing bad will happen. Side note: I forgot Lance is the bass. How appropriate. Hahaha. But seriously, a genuinely good one at that. These days, after people like Tim Faust and Avi Kaplan, he'd probably be more appreciated.

They were so dedicated to their craft that most of their songs work as just acapella songs. Usually for a recording artist, the singles off of the album is their most dumbed down music, not so with NSYNC

this is the very reason why I love NSYNC. Because when they sang together, they had SUCH AMAZING harmony together, it was very clear how 'in sync' they were. I always preferred their Acapella, R&B songs over the Pop songs. They shined the best like this, no background music just them.

Jimcel Villamayor thanks for giving Joey credit. I feel the same. When you listen to it closely, he makes the songs more full. He’s like with Lance. You don’t really know they’re there-but if you take them out the song sounds so plain.

Yeah! I try to isolate their voices and Joey's is the most difficult to distinguish. Although he's baritone, he's a big step above Lance's bass voice and closer to Justin's key.
