Man…. Dave….. THANK YOU!!!! First of all, I’m Sold on the XR. You never mentioned quality is an issue. 2nd, God Bless You and all the other fabricators for putting their content out here for others to see. I’m a disabled guy looking to start my own small business and work out of my garage doing fab work rather than crawling under vehicles and hurting myself anymore. You all have shown me so much and I will be forever grateful. God Bless

do you normally cut without radiused lead in / lead out parameters? thats why the holes @11:45 have the divot at the start/stop. and with aluminum def more speed will help and throw some scrap weight on the thin stuff to prevent it from heat warping like it did. overall tho nice job, mine should be here any day1

Dave, would you recommend this unit for a cnc machine shop to use for rough cuts of 3/8 plate? We buy a bunch of profile plasma cuts and our shop cnc mills out the tight dimensions on the inside of these parts. However if we can do our own plasma cuts it would save us a ton of money. This machine is well within budget for the jobs we can use it for. Please share your thoughts. Thanks in advanced.
@ntdracing Жыл бұрын
I cut mostly up to 1/4. That said, the table is strong enough take a 4x8 1” sheet, so it can take the weight you would put in it. The motion of the machine has not given me any issues and seems robust enough for production. The only part left is the ability to cut 3/8, and that has everything to do with which plasma cutter you add to the table. The RW45 works great for me, but I am into one off parts and not production. This might be a case where a more powerful Hypertherm would be worth the investment. Hope this helps. Good luck.

sold on the xr is there a way to make it where you dont get that dip in the cut in each circle or letter
@ntdracing2 жыл бұрын
That would be in some trial and error with the plasma cutter settings. The table is very precise. The art is to work on lead in, lead out, power and cut speed to get the best cut results.

Nice video. Anyone out there have a view on the STV compared to this CrossFire? I have been looking at the STV until this video. I really like the cover with light over the torch and standard touch screen. Wonder if Lead Screw design is better than Gear on a plasma??
@mtnbiker44803 жыл бұрын
We were looking at STV as well. Waiting impatiently for our XR. I do think lead screw (ball screw actually) is a better design. Less backlash than rack and pinion I would imagine.

@@mtnbiker4480 Can you give an estimation of when you ordered and what your lead time was? Please don't hesitate to five a little feed back of assembling.
@imkindofabigdeal43083 жыл бұрын
@@rufustoad1 Ordered 5/24/2021 - about an hour after batch 1 closed and batch 2 opened (and $250 bump). Lead time was impacted by supply chain issues so not that relevant. I'd ask Langmuir directly if the lead time on their XR page is still reasonable - they are estimating December.
