Pia's defense of use of English in Bb. Pilipinas because in international pageants English is used - not very logical, considering that Riyo Mori, Ximena Navarette, Leila Lopes, and countless others used an interpreter and won! Pia's answer was lost on me.

Those countries you mentioned their people only speak their own language, not English. But Philippines is known all over the world to speak English. So in pageants Ph contestants do not use interpreters.

Parul shah is from batch 2014. She won Bb. Pilipinas Tourism that year but wasn't able to compete internationally coz miss tourism was cancelled. That's why Mrs. Araneta gave her a chance this year to compete for Miss Grand International since BPCI recently bought the franchise of Miss Grand.😊
