I can relate so much, I used to be someone who would share everything and anything about my life, until I got hurt by all the friendships I had, some I never confronted till today and it looks as if we are okay but honestly we are not, but I’ve built up so much walls and boundaries to a point that I fear having friends around my personal space. One thing about friendships they have left me traumatised and hurt.

I think friendships while married is a much deeper topic that can be explored. I’ve learned to release my frustrations or concerns about my marriage in prayer and not entrust that to friends because you can never know what’s in someone’s heart. I agree we can learn to trust friends and not live in fear and we need the girlies that understand our emotions and that we can vent with, but I indirectly let friends know my marriage is thriving 365 days in a year as far as they are concerned 😂

Its super lonely when you've good news to share then it hits you that you've no one to share it with. Then it hurts even more during tough times & I'm literally alone. Oh my gosh Nthabi you just took me back to 2006. I was doing grade 10, 15 years old and a friendship fallout got me on anti-depressants and 2 weeks out of school. That was one of the worst years of my life and I was ready to repeat grade 10 but my family forced me to go back to school. Thankfully I left that school the following year. Fast forward 2009, I am also doing 1st year and ofcource I befriend some people at Res... 🙄... Did I not get into a similar situation? 😓. My problem is that I've always been too trusting and I never learn lessons. It's only in my 30s where I'm refusing to find myself in the same predicaments.

Firstly I'd like to say that you look gorgeous. I'm liking today's look. I'm only 20 and this is what I've learned about friendships. Be strategic on WHO you vent to. Everyone does not need to know everything about you. Have different friends for different parts of you. In that way you give certain versions of yourself away to certain individuals only. What your church friend knows about you might not be what your gym friend does. AVOID having mutual friends with your friends. Group dynamics never really work. One party will somehow always feel like an outcast. Group dynamics also create room for gossip. If your friends don't know each other, there won't be reason to talk about one another in the first place. Lastly, it isn't necessarily about keeping your circle small but tight.

I last had a friend in High School. Our friendship was only within the parameters of the school yard and walls. Beyond that nix. To this day...no friends. I have girls from work...I've also learnt not to be vulnerable by over sharing with them.

Vulnerability can be our biggest enemy at times and it’s so saf how people can use our openess against. We need to always guard our hearts❤

Ma'am you are me and I am you😅... I don't like sharing because I have trust issues ❤. At 35 I'm still hoping to meet someone that I will align with fully. And theres things that you really can't share with husband.. Things that need a woman to woman. 😂 But ke sana, we end up talking to ourselves 😂. We honestly need to pray for friendships. 🙏 Thank you ❤

Loved the vid..am in my early 40 and still have boundaries, and I am very sensitive to even label my friend “best friend “🤭because of past trauma, but I really like what you said about praying and asking God to give you the right people in your life ❤thank you so much for that babe, and you look so beautiful 😍

Currently in Varsity When I met my Roommate for the first time I thought she is a really nice person but as time went i realised that I am living with a python. I thank God for revealing her to me.

Also what you expect from friendships, even if it’s influenced by your past traumas, you attract it. Food for thought. 😊

This is so true when you go in a friendship with your guard expecting it will fail more often than not it does.
