Don't know why some people feel the need to clean off the shelves in supermarkets. If you want to stock up, please bear in mind that there are other people who also need the supplies. It's like this virus is bringing the worst out of us. Supermarkets should start limiting the number of items of each category a person can buy to avoid altercations. I am trying not to point fingers. Our reactions are just exaggerated. We are all afraid about the possibility that the worst situation might happen. But we have to the stay positive and not panic. Singapore is a strong country. Singaporeans are strong people. We will get through this.

The mistrust is understandable given how China handle the initial report back in 2019 and situation in Hong Kong handling. We act only on information and available data not on speculation. Prepare for if situation turn for worst but not over react. Existing data show 2019ncov fatalities is not even on par with SARS or MERS with mild cases not reported. Seasonal flu death as of today is estimated at 51908. Everyone need to play our part to help to contain the spread. Not instead of panic buy to trigger fear, panic and disruption.

It will be a domino's effect on everything including the economy. As with outbreak, once the immunity of the population hit a threshold the virus will no longer be a threat. Virus need a host. If it's too lethal it will rid itself. So far only the severe cases are reported. Mild cases are not reported. No vaccine was developed for SARS cause the outbreak eventually faint off with summer season and become not commercial viable to pursue.
