On foot in Kulbiyow: NTV obtains exclusive access to KDF base in Somalia

We take you to the battlefields of Kulbiyow, where nearly 1000 Al Shabaab fighters attempted an el adde like attack on a KDF camp.
NTV obtained exclusive access to the camp, ten days after KDF soldiers fought off the militants , losing at least 21 men in the process. NTV's investigative editor Dennis Okari was at Kulbiyow base and reports that this latest attack had taught KDF vital lessons.

This is an FOB (Forward Operating Base) with elevated threat levels. The camp's perimeter did not seem very fortified. I may be wrong, but that's just how it looked. US military support should include training and use of drones for round the clock surveillance. I know they do it, but that should be a capability and expertise transferred to our chaps. Big up to our soldiers. I am sure they have seen and done a lot that we may never know.

What kdf need most isn't anti tank 85mm shells, they need javelin missiles which locks on target and never misses. That way no vbied will come near the camp to cause damage to the front line.
