Dr. Besigye told them to join him during the walk to work campaign and they all refused saying they didn't want their businesses to be disrupted. Am so happy to see them on their knees fighting for themselves, perhaps they will now understand that politics is economics

How many people in Rukungiri participated in his back yard coz most are poorer than the traders or underserved than the traders in Kampala

We need change not just talk about it, and most of the hospital I know were built before this m7's government and though they still have no facilities, where do those much taxes go.

Does this mean that URA would always have people in each business to monitor if they pay taxes?

Taxes are the strong back bones of any country . In Sweden we pay 33% on a salary meaning if u earn 1m you go back with 670k . Everyone knows all shops in town have 2 books for dodging taxes ! It’s 2024 things are changing and believe me 2027 will also be different . The world is changing

@@OnesmusBigirwamukama it's okay for us to be taxed. But not taxing even our bone marrow.

And then the issue of tax holidays for so called investors and the lavish lifestyle of the people in power. Mpuuga and other crooks getting obscenely huge amounts of money in the guise of service awards; disgusting! Ugandan traders need to put their tools down until when all those taxes are scrapped!

When you give foreigners tax exemptions and free land or lease for a certain period on behalf of of taxed local ugandan makes life uneasy. Remember these foreigners when the lease years reach they run away. URA should question itsself, or check its system how many businesses have closed eg uchumi, shoprite, nakumat plus govt businesses like u ganda telecom and more its our taxation policy. We as Ugandans we want to pay taxes but there should fairness both to govt and other stakeholders.

My concern is after the tax collection, how are our taxes being spent. Paying taxes is inevitable however we are paying for other people to improve their lifestyles.

This dude from URA is not glued up. He gave an example of restaurants. Most of the restaurants in Uganda are informal. So lets imagine you got to the restruants and order food for 10500, How will Nalanog know which component is VAT?

With these high levels of corruption how does any Ugandan even get the motivation to pay tax. Look at the roads in Kampala. What has the tax paid done for Kampala traders

Giving an example of Kikubo, the way how business runs there will be very difficult to track. I think none of these guys have been there or shopped there. The examples being given are relevant but not too relevant to this
