Amazing place. How did you get here on the northwest coast of Kauai? Boat? Hike from somewhere?

we hiked. we pretty much just took the nualolo trail from the ranger station and that trail let to this point. iam not sure if its still open though. heard that they closed the part you see in the vid due to it being too dangereous.

Michael Nielsen then we looped into the awa awapuhi trail and walked back to the ranger station. not sure how many miles that was,

@le th - And we did see both the Nualolo and Awa'awapuhi viewpoint, and filmed it, the videos just didn't turn out that great..

thx :) it was kinda scary to say the least. well afterwards, when it actually hit you, what you had done, but damn it was worth it!! :)

@le th - "the Awa'awapuhi ridge is the only reason to do this hike" ?! I do not agree with you. (I'm the one filming this vid. btw.) First of all, when you -as me and Michael are - living in a northern european country, the nature in Hawaii is stunning compared to our homecountry, so the whole loop hike was great. It's not like we enjoyed the rain and wanted to do this hike in rain, but we had rain almost all 10 days we were on Kauai, so we decided to do it anyway. -->

Love the trail, but no way would I do it in the rain. Discretion being the better part of valor, and all of that. :)

Yeah that's all gone now. They've recently reopened the trail and that entire section is gone. It's all a walk in the park now. :(

Nu'alolo cliff trail is closed now
@michaelguldager72999 жыл бұрын
do you know why?
@jakepescaia72059 жыл бұрын
Hazardous cliff conditions, there's been heavy rains and the trails eroded

+Jake Pescaia Sounds like the perfect trail to hike! We'll just bring our mountain spikes and work around it! :-)

In the rain??? Are you hoping to die??? Even during months of great weather, this trail is, at best, treacherous...and you didn't even film the Awa'awapuhi ridge, which is the only reason to do this hike. I mean, if you're gonna risk dying you might as well have your last vista on earth be that gorgeous lookout over the Nualolo and Awa'awapuhi valleys.
