the game's engine limits the explosions, in 1999 having 256 mb RAM was like nowadays having 64 GB RAM. And GPUs were like 32 MB VRAM at best.

Actually, the bottleneck here is the processor, because the game does not support multiple cores (after all, that wasn't commonplace back when it was released).

@@llSuperSnivyll this game had reccomended 266 mhz (0.2 GHz) cpu. It can't take advantage of modern CPUs despite them pushing 5.5+ GHz in single core.

@@SpeedDaemon3 well, it's a combination of game engine and cpu limitations. The game engine uses a single core and after this there's probably another limit, that would be about a maximum usefulness of a cpu because the game engine, again, can only use so much of even a single core, regardless of speed and cache available to it. Even a single core at 8.8ghz (speed record) will have massive stutter and lag after a point.

This does comes from a certain mission when you play as Ally. The Soviet got 3 nuke silos but unlike from this video. The mission would simply launch all 3 missiles but only 1 would go down into your base but the nuke powers is higher. When you take down 1 by 1, the power levels goes down. It was a bit let down since they launch 3 missiles but only 1 goes down. Well from game play point of view if all 3 does goes down, I wouldn't be able to finish that mission at all. So maybe it just wanted to make the gameplay to be balance in the missions. So seeing this videos where multiples nukes can be launch but falls down a different locations in the base within the clickable area really gives me that satisfactions.

Thats how it would work in real life.. its called a Volly.. you have less chance of missing your target when you fire multiple projectiles at it..

There was also a way that you could take missle projectiles like the v3 and angle them higher so that if you set the altitude high enough the missles would literally fly off the map into the air and after disappearing would finally come back down and it looked so cool especially if you did a chemical warhead like you had in tiberian sun.

I would love to see the ini for this because I remember the limitation was something like 11 cells but in dune 2000 you weren’t limited to 11 cells so the harkonen missle could be edited to destroy the whole map

What I did to break past the cell limit was I had the weapon launch shrapnel and than just made the warhead the nuke war head so when the weapon hit it blew off however many pieces of shrapnel that also released shrapnel and it would overwhelm my computer as it literally wiped out the whole map.

Someone once created a graphic (I forget the name for graphic files) that was a satellite and I used the Kirov coding but edited it so that the altitude was ridiculous. What it would do is cause the unit to come out of the factory and it would raise like the Kirov but it would go so high you had to hot key it or loose it because it would disappear off the map but than it would shot down massive amounts of tesla lightning beams. Had I done more it could have been a mobile tiberian sun ion cannon.

Something else that used to be fun in editing was creating an air unit that had a graphic image of a cruise missile and it would kamikaze itself (I forget the exact name for editing but it was the option that allowed the range for which it would auto attack like a rhino tank firing when it was within range of an enemy) what it the setting would do is cause it to trigger its attack range from a long distance so it would suicide like a terror drone, literally speed up, and therefore no longer be moveable until it self destructed landing into any ground units.
