I'm not trying to dismiss how terrifying death is, I completely understand. It's just that some people (somehow) find peace in our transience. It's a biologically logical outcome, but our self-importance and optimism bias is even more disturbing than our mortality. While anthropocentrism _might_ be necessary for us to function 'normally', continue propagating life, justifying our desires etc., I still find it depressing that an overwhelming majority of us couldn't give a fuck about anything other than our own wants and needs. Even the best of us often prioritise ourselves or Humans first. We all fall to our instincts sooner or later and it makes us shit. Even trying to harness the power of the atom was to deliver us clean and sustainable energy until we decided we could use it to blow shit up. Sex and guns. It fuckin blows how appealing that is. *TL;DR This was meant to be a simple comment on coming to terms with death but I've been watching morbid ass videos for hours so here's my fuckin diary*
