Good presentation, because it's consistently directed toward about the same level. Such a thing could be above most people's head, or could be so dumbed down as to be useless. Here, we are mostly near a happy medium. I learned stuff.

This video was so informative, and easy for the layman to grasp our current progress w this tech. Thanks!! I for one am looking forward to seeing how fission will be placed in the timeline leading towards, or perhaps more likely, following peak oil. Seems to me the energy cornucopians are relying on fission to bridge the transition. Exciting times.

This video is indeed very informative. However I can't help but feel that the energy output problem might be because you are using a steam generator to harness what is potentially limitless energy. I've read of a patent for a fusion generator that uses a steam generator as well as a thermoionic power converter (in order to harness the massive heat from the plasma ). Can you tell me why having those two generators instead of just one wouldn't work? (It might be obvious to you but not to me)

A-neutronic fusion is the only way to go, unlike fission reactors there is no moderator limiting the damage to the walls due to neutric radiation.

It was said by experts in plasma fusion that all the fusion spectrum energy released by fusion is not used to produce the heat for making electricity like fission power plant: So this Q factor is a measure for a lab approach of for the Power plant producer? It's important for the one who dream about fusion , the scientific publication are not explaining what energy is about. The rest of the video is good to watch: It remeber when I was working at Tore Supra CEA Euratom project and at the JET Euratom project

@Nash1a

At PPPL there was this assumption that if you could create fusion, you would get all this energy out. But I sometimes wonder; what if the energy and the fusion of Hydrogen into Helium weren't BOTH results of another force? In the Sun, it works. In the lab it doesn't. What's the difference? In the sun you have all that mass causing all that gravity bending and stretching space-time. So again I ask, is it possible that gravity is causing BOTH the fusion and the energy?

Thanks for the vid, very informative indeed. It's a shame there are so many voices who want to shut down the investment in fusion development because 'it isn't profitable now, so we can make better use of the money in other domains'... So short-sighted.

Hickson Gameing Indeed, I'm actually writing something about that right now. If we discovered stable fusion that would produce energy at a positive rate and hooked it to a Tesla Wardenclyffe tower inhabitat.com/russian-physicists-launch-campaign-to-rebuild-teslas-wardenclyffe-tower-and-power-the-world/ and you would almost instantly make hundreds, probably thousands, of companies go bankrupt not to mention the 10's of thousands of people working in electricity pole maintenance and installation. The economic impact would be horendous, and yet it is still the way to go I believe. The world needs to change one drastic step at a time.

Friedrich Sting but thats not how humanity works money and power are motivation for most things people have tried money-less powerless systems but greed is part of human nature and we will either always strive for more or will always ask to be given everything one causes competition and war and strife the other allows no one to be happy and a dead society the bad in the world out ways the good unfortunately and power cant be obtained in this world without some bad i can go on and on and on but it is unfortunate that we cant all work together on things like this

Today your explanations is good but I see from different view of mother nature.Star and Planets are same core method .changes shift in content of materials which they are collected. We are using magnetic smasher action but mother nature used gravitational smasher . Gravitational smasher can be squizee and compress; ionized and catatylintic . So ; Star core and Planet core can be ignite with two system of Fusion and Fission .Star with gravitational smasher will make Fusion . Planet core will make fission . That is style of Natural nuclear energy reactor operation. These are driven by gravity. We are using today magnetic cyclotron and Torkamak only. Mother nature use advance one step over our. She use Gravitational crusher for her natural nuclear reactor. We need to know more detail of Gravity .How is work Gravity ? How can be running by applied gravity ? Gravity may be helpful for future nuclear technology advance. Search for Gravity where are you come from?

Great video ! The Univ. of Wisconsin at Madison has a He3 small Fusion Test Reactor. The TSA has been using up the National Stockpile of He3 with there Full Body Scanners ! The commercial Clementine Base at the Lunar South Pole can jump start the Lunar Economy ! The Clementine Base can map and recover the Lunar Water Ice. The Lunar Water can be broken down to LUNar OXygen (LUNOX) that has many uses. The Hydrogen can be used to fuel a Reusable Rocket Shuttle and Heated hydrogen can recover Solar Wind Gasses from the Lunar Regolith ! Back to the Moon to Stay and onto Mars and Beyond-Ad Astra... tjl

"The cost has tripled to around 16 billion and most likely will never work anyway!!! Because energy compression comes from light waves from the surrounding masses!!! The total amplitude formed by a rings series of inward spherical waves by multiplying electrical potential along cubic dynameters coming into every point +1=0 now -1. . ..This causes the atoms to break up into plasma as their shells occupy larger area of space within the Sun."

Thats practically close to impossible xd, producing like 1 gram costs billions of dollars and it's not viable to get energy from it because when you contact it with matter, then its like 50000 hiroshima bombs going off at the same time.

Montgomery Bermann Nopr. Read about Teesla's new industrial battery that makes solar and wind practical enough that fusion is almost obsolete, though.
@Bunnysinger
@Bunnysinger 9 жыл бұрын
Jeff Mullen Solar and wind have it's own place in the future of energy generation, just like fusion. Solar and wind have problems like unpredictable stability and space-consumption, which makes it very hard for these alternatives to power the megacities we live in today. We also need a safe way of mass-production of energy in a relatively small space. And that's where fusion can come in.

Rare metals such as uranium-3, which turns out to be a fuel for nuclear fusion and which could provide energy for our civilization for the next 10,000 years, " he wrote. Larouchepac.com

can it be any more difficult?? Thorium blows this into the weeds. Simpler,cheaper,less expensive. Fusion is a promise of a promise of a promise that never eventuates and will never pay off anywhere near cheaper than coal energy.
@kevincalhoun8472

I don't think this is supposed to make things cheaper. Thorium isn't going to get humans to another planet. I'd also leaves a dngerous amount of waste that must be stored somewhere safe.
