This album kicked ass when it first come out and still sounds kick ass now. Love the album cover too.

Another great reaction (as usual) - I remember buying this album back in the day, it hadn’t come out in the UK but my local record store always had a good supply of American imports - I remember feeling so cool as no-one I knew had it at the time :)

I remember it was rush released in the UK when anarchy reached the lofty heights of 44 in the singles charts. I had it on cassette with no lyrics so ended up nicking the empty cd case from Woolies so I could learn 'em. Great album.

I always draw parrallels between these 2 songs to Dialectic Chaos/This Day We Fight on Endgame. Amazing intros into amazing songs with amazing solos!!!!

Mary Jane is underrated af. Amazing guitar work throughout- flashes of the brilliance leading to Tornado of Souls.

the original mary jane version is one of the best songs this band ever released.

If you watch the Decline Of The Western Civilization 2 The Metal Years you can see this exact lineup and even hear the soon to be let go band members talking in interview segments. Jeff Young used to do guitar lesson columns in both Circus magazine and Guitar For The Practicing Musician in the early 1990's too

Jeff Young was yet another fantastic guitar player for Megadeth. But it's tough living in the shadow of Marty Friedman and Chris Poland. If not for the Sex Pistols cover ( which isn't bad, but another original would've been preferred), this would be on the same level as Peace Sells and Rust in Peace. Even so, it's damn close. Mustaine's songwriting and arranging skills were absolutely insane during this entire run.

I agree- but it sorely lacks the phenomonal production of the Peace Sells album. And the lame re- master that Mustaine did really did nothing to improve it. Plus- Chuck Behler was no Gar Samuelson. I missed his drum work on this album. Its really evident, at least to me.

Heyyy, well boy, the whole album is good, it's more raw and it's thrash metal, when you get to Mary Jane or Liar you'll find the purity of what I talk about in those songs.👌🏼🤙🏻

First, thanks for not playing the remastered version. The remastered of 'Into the Lungs of Hell' has a horn section at the beginning... and I thought Dave was off drugs by 2004..... Great start to a great album. Not my personal favorite among the first 4 albums, it's fourth, but 4 songs off this album would make my top 25 list. Looking forwards to listening to the rest of "So Good. So Far. So What" with you.

Truth is, the horns have ALWAYS been there, just mixed very low. You can hear the first one clearly @04:17 in your left headphone.
