Fission reactor tips: For a super compact fission reactor make a checkerboard pattern of nuclear reactors with niter covering two faces of each as well as two blocks of moderating graphite. We will be pumping the water in from below. On the top third layer steam turbines should be placed. Usually we want super dense steam but for this purpose we only can have normal steam. With this compact setup the turbines dump water back into the reactors reducing the size of the water tank for feedwater. You can control these reactors remotely with redstone! This is useful if you are not producing enough water, a complex but robust timer could be the solution to this by only having some reactors active at a time while the rest regenerate coolant. Additionally the auto shutdown feature combined with a timer and a comparator will compensate for total coolant loss. Use barrels to sense the fluid levels of your reactor and comparators to set off alarms if something is going wrong. Only for big reactors: you dont need a reactor controller at all, allowing you to make a 3x3 reactor sharing control rods and reaction chambers with itself, just link them wirelessly and make sure there is no reactor in the center. Uh oh, you were doing everything right and it still exploded? Not to worry! With the power of denial you can fix the problem that isnt there. Relax... The core didnt explode. YOUR reactors dont explode anyways. 3.6? Yeah its not nominal but it isnt catastrophic, must be the feedwater. Remember if you dont see it then it didnt happen.

@@SavageVegeta By the way, I want to say that in this reactor to me there is one thing not finished and that is its rods that go up and down. If you noticed, if you put a block on top of the rods when the reactor is running, then after shutdown the rods will start to rise and go inside the block because these rods have no collision (I hope you know what collision is). I hope Bob fixes that someday.

Pro tip: when you get technicium-99 (for which you already need a reactor, sadly) you can make reinforced niter block, which both creates coolant and doesn't let the radiation out.

Generally the first reactor you go for is the Zirnox in the new update afaik, if you have the materials then you can also make the Modular Nuclear Reactor (you can also call it Big Nuclear Reactor) which can take Nuclear fuel ingots directly but it will consume coolant so that's one thing you'll need to produce

As for voiding fluids you can use the Flare Stack, but it will not void all fluids iirc ... Still worth a try in creative mode with the fluid you're trying to get rid of cause if it's a flammable fluid then you can burn it to make power

The energy used by HBMs is "HE" , for conversion "1 HE = 4 RF"

No it's not different from how it used to be in 1.7.10 ... And if it's making steam then the reactor itself is working properly Now the problem is transferring steam into the turbine. So either the fluid pipe that you've used is not set to super dense steam or the turbine itself is set to take something else than SDS. Do make sure to check both of these things , the pipe coming out from the reactor should be set to SDS and the first turbine should also be set to SDS.

Containing the radiation can be achieved by only covering the open area (basically the middle portion) of the reactor with concrete bricks ... If there is still radiation then you can place radiation absorber around it and thrall suck up any extra radiation

Previously was about 30 rad/s outside the building it's in, now it's >1 rad/s standing next to the walls and 10 rad/s inside the reactor room. Eventually the 1.12.2 version will probably turn it into a "research reactor" like on 1.7.10 so idk why I'm even using this to generate power anyways since I'll have to tear it down once it becomes useless for power.

The multiblock nuclear reactor is what you need man, just keep on adding fuel to it ... which can be uranium fuel (cause you can automate the production of uranium making it an infinite resource without mining for it) and it will keep on running without any temperature fluctuations. I was thinking to build the reactor and have the control rods down at 10%-20% to avoid over heating. @@Ar_Tank the problem with leaving the RBMK running is that there is no way of automating the refueling process. So once the fuel rod has depleted the reactor will stop producing power ... Another thing is the temperature of the fuel rods will change as the depletion levels change which will affect the power produced These problems don't exist for the Multiblock nuclear reactor , as it will always run with constant temperature thus producing constant power

@@Ar_Tank fuel values were changed in the recent updates of the mod so I can't say for sure man , also in that video I used so little water and cooling towers that the reactor will just heat up and explode. If you want to run that reactor without it going boom boom then add more heavy infinite water tanks and also big cooling towers instead of auxiliary cooling tower. And even the Multiblock RBMK reactor will use turbines and cooling towers like the RBMK ... Afterall it also produces steam and that steam is then used to produce power

So you need only 1 reactor 3 turbines 4 blocks of niter around it and 3 stacks of concrete bricks. You need to obstruct your reactor with them and cover floor and roof. Later fill it with water. Put 4 blocks of niter and place pipes all around the reactor bottom. Connect them to 1st turbine and to 2nd and 3rd. Filter the turbines and pipes with super dense steam, dense steam and regular steam. Connect red copper wires to energy storage (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Saturnite Storage) last step: make a hole in 1 concrete brick and carefully don't spill water from it. Later open reactor GUI change steam compression to super dense. Put all of your SINGLE uranium rods in the reactor(12 rods = 72 Uranium Fuel Nuggets. You can achieve them easily from all-known uranium hexafluoride and gas centrifuge.) Later raise control rods and MAKE SURE YOUR NITER BLOCKS ARE PROVIDING COOLANT. Put your best infinite water tank in the left slot of reactor. Now you have your best low budget almost infinite source of energy for any of your needs! Also you can place 5 radiation background generators and connect them to 1 energy storage block for additional infinite energy. Also it will consume radiation background from reactor, making it safely for working with it. No need for thanks!

Sadly no as it was made for Java version of Minecraft. You could try "pojav launcher" but this mod is pretty resource intensive so you should have a really good phone to run it.

(Solved) I am having persistent issues with the reactor itself, being I cannot put fuel rods into it. I am playing on a 1.12.2 version of the mod "Hbm's Nuclear Tech - Extended Edition" to be specific, from Curseforge, any help will be appreciated.

Try to use the uranium fuel with the purple "F". To create this u need uranium 235 nuggets and uranium 238 nuggets. Like a ingot also have the purple "F" and u need to put it on rods. I think nuclear reactor (which i have in my version of hbm) work with specifics fuel. The fuels that work have a blue description like "30 ticks / second on nuclear reactor" or something like that. In another version exist the uranium plates and u can use that. That work on my version of hbm and i wish that also work in yours version. And sorry for the bad english, i speak spanish and im trying to dont use translator 😅

Yeah the small nuclear power plant is now only a research reactor used to power breeding reactors. If you want to use it you'll need to downgrade the version of the mod
