Neige said : Despite its more accessible vibe, this song is actually the most personal song of the album for me. 'Flamme Jumelle' which means 'Twin Flame ' is about the idea of loss in general and the difficulty of coping with the absence of someone you deeply loved. It could be a family member, a friend, or a partner. On a more spiritual level, the title refers to the possibility that certain souls are connected in this life and beyond, and that separation is temporary and just a mortal concept.

Alcest never misses, forever one of my favorite bands. When I was 14 they had a few snippets of Souvenirs D’un Autre Monde up on MySpace. I remember ripping them and listening to them everyday and grabbed the album as soon as preorders went up. Bonjour. Je suis métalleux depuis 33ans et flamme jumelle depuis 1an. Je vis actuellement un enfer car je n'arrive pas à lâcher prise, et j'ai des vas et viens émotionnelles qui m'épuise. Ma flamme jumelle, je travaille avec, je la voie toute la journée, ce qui est très compliqué à gérer. De plus je viens juste d'apprendre que je suis magnétiseur. Donc en plus de ressentir tout ce qu'elle ressent, je comprends mieux pourquoi j'attrape toute ces douleurs physiques et émotionnelles. En plus du calvaire qu'elle me fait vivre forcément. Quoiqu'il en soit, je remercie vivement Alcest , groupe de metal que je connaissais peu, parler de mon lien d'âme puissant et éprouvant, avec toute la poésie et la beauté qui lui est dû. I really couldn’t agree more. Neige retains his own style more than enough that he manages to not offend most fans. The biggest part of this is that the dude is a legit musical genius, and it’s just legitimately hard to hate on such well crafted music. Most of us are here starting as black metal fans, but Alcest is barely black metal anymore. Hell, at least half of Alcest bares no resemblance to black metal. And it’s not like Neige shies away from black metal. He just does whatever the fuck he wants to do in that moment of time. I don’t think he even goes into it with any premeditated course. He just does what and where he’s at. Neige is easily in my top 5 musicians of all time. There’s pieces I like less than others, but overall he has never done wrong. There is nothing more exciting to me in the music world than new music from Neige/Alcest.

For what I understand, maybe he wants us to not focus on the lyrics, but to hear the vocals the same way we hear the other instruments. 1) are we even saying this is an out and out metal song? I'm not so sure 2) The video for Protection has beautiful interpretive dance applied to it so Neige has done this before. 3) Pretty sure Motley Crue, WASP, Ratt and other Hair Metal acts have been a common soundtrack in pole dancing clubs etc. 4) The videos on MTV for the aforementioned scene regularly had dancers. Both of which take us back to at least the 80s. 5) Prior to that, music videos were not such a prominent feature so it's hard to say. Does people awkwardly dancing on the BBC's Top Of The Pops to Deep Purple's Black Night count? That would be ~1970
