Fan d'Alcest depuis sa formation, le riff de fin d'oiseaux de proie me fout toujours autant les frissons. Vous savez pas à quel point votre musique m'a aidé à passer des moments pas faciles et je crois qu'elle m'accompagnera toute ma vie; une véritable magie à l'oeuvre. I think that time we all could peek a little into that realm Neige has seen.

Alcest. Calling them a phenomenal band is a criminal understatement. Ranging from the metaphysical themes they often revisit carried by a language too sacred for anyone's sake to the myriad of emotions they effortlessly convey through their seraphic musical compositions, Alcest have proved themselves to be one of the best bands of this era. There is something different about them. It is like they know something about this world that none of us do. Listening to them made me feel things I've never felt in a thousand lifetimes. I love this band.

You gotta appreciate how Neige has managed to clone himself to pull off the harmony vocals and overlapping screams, as well as thickening up the guitar sound. Seriously, though, second guitarist/singer has mad talent too, and I definitely spent the first 10 min of the video trying to figure out if they were cutting between two guys or just back and forth to Neige from different angles

I remember seeing these guys open up for Opeth in Stockholm right after they had released Shelter and was absolutely blown away by the performance. This was my first introduction to the band and I had not heard them before. Bought the album, but the live performance was so unbelievably good that the album was rendered unlistenable afterwards. This concert brings me back to that night and I am so, so grateful for this upload. Thank you to the band and everyone involved. I think I am ready to listen to that album now.

Sounds like studio because it was re-mixed. The original sound was an absolute nightmare. It took half the set for the sound engineer to rebalance Neige's vocals and the drums, and even then, it was still crap. I'm a big fan of Alcest but I couldn't endure the whole set for how much of a disaster it was. It stayed on Arte Concert page for a day or so before it was removed, which I'm sure is because of the sound quality and mix. Now, I'm immensely impressed on how far whoever took it over managed to bring it. And I'm enjoying it a LOT. So I guess where I'm going with that is a word of caution: yes, the sound is fantastic, but it was re-worked a ton. Do not expect to get this kind of quality live.
