Saw them live on the Amon Amarth tour and 4 days ago at Wacken and both times they ruled the fucking evening. At Wacken they were the only band I saw which convinced LITERALLY EVERYONE in the crowd to sing along. Even 15 minutes after they stopped playing people were still singing Hammer of the North on their way to the main stages.

I enjoy listening to it :) I try to come back to the "roots" of metal/rock music recently. I search for "pre metal" stuff. Music like the one you can find in the first albums of Judas Priest, kind of hippie/rock things.

I had a Marshall JCM 900 and Full 1960 Stack and I also had a B.C. Rich KK V Heavy metal Guitar. I set the volume and gain on the JCM 900 on 11 and used that Kohler Tremolo bar for all it's worth. I tell you I could see the souls being pulled out of the wood all around me in the room. Kind of scary and freaky. I ended up selling the wonderful Marshall rig because I was moving. I sold the Guitar because it was way to heavy for my body and I was always in pain after playing. I really miss that stuff and I have been shopping for a replacement amp/stack and guitar. I may just get another Marshall JCM 1960 full stack. I can't afford a new JCM 900 amp. I have found a new ESP LTD JH600 Jeff Hanneman Signiture guitar that I can afford. I hope it's not as heavy. I could get another BC Rich KK V but the weight say's no. It is my favorite guitar! Funny, believe it or not this song was the very first time that I ever searched out Heavy Metal. I kinda think it was lame and sucked. The musicians looked fucked up. I may still go ahead and get back into heavy metal as for some odd reason I enjoy playing this style and I find it easy and natural. it's not hard at all for me. Weird huh! But now that I see into the Heavy Metal World I am pissed off that you people look like your zombies. That sucks big time. I am pro life, I love clean air and sunshine. You need to change your attitude and live a healthy life and forget about all that zombie crap. Yea I'm old but I have been through a lot. You don't know how much, really. But I still find clean air and sunshine among the very best things in my life.

I play around 20 different stringed instruments from all over the world. But a Heavy Metal guitar is so expressive. I will play on, but for me so forget you if you look like these people. Elric of Melnibone reference. The line "I was a thousand times more evil than thou" straight up comes from Stormbringer, the sixth and final book in the Elric Saga. Plus the line "body's still as weak as a newborn child" is also a clue, Elric was a physically frail Albino sorcerer who was heavily reliant on his soul devouring black blade called Stormbringer.

The reason why power metal-heavy metal is dead nowadays is there are no more new and interesting bands, and i say this as a fan of power metal after listening to insane amounts of bands from Italy,France.Sweden.Finland bla bla...the thing that pissed me of is the "this is the best band ever in the world of dragons and steel" type band, you guys are so boring :/

And yet Death Metal focuses mainly on death, murder, slaughter etc. and that's not samey? A lot of Death Metal bands sound extremely similar, not just with the lyrics but the instruments to. I find bands trying to be super brutal 'Cannibal Copse part 2' to be very cheesy. Give me Power Metal with interesting, different melodies and song structures any day.

Production is quite ok. Guitars souns like real guitars, not that rubbish Hetfield-esque thing that just sounds awful. The only problem, IMO, is that drum sound doesn't fit. It's that new full trigger-processed sound, no intonation, no soul. Like corrugated boxes being hit hard.
