But glad you're enjoying the band friend, it's just always funny to see the generational bias play out, cuz i was just on a thread where a dude was heralding the most recent Nile albums as being their best, when Black Seeds of Vengeance and In Their Darkened Shrines exists haha. Haha I was still in middle school when this came out. Crazy how time flys. Ngl, I had a love/hate relationship with this album because at the time I was pissed that Vortex/Mustis weren’t in it but now I came to appreciate it.

this is my first time listening thru the album & I have to say it's not bad if you forget hellhammer, vortex & mustis were fired before it was made. Just treat it like Dimmu before those guys joined the band. I think I will pick this up on vinyl if it is repressed at a reasonable price i think.

Never understood the hate for this album. Could they go back and add more metal riffs and drums or keys? Sure but it's such an amazing dark album on it's own. I didn't care for the quest vocals in gateways, rather been another black metal artist. But overall this album is great. Shagarth vocals are top of the game

Gosto desse album mas acho as orquestrações do puritanical melhores lá, principalmente hybrid stigmata, eu sinto que a mistura de música erudita e metal é mais homogênea nesse album e além disso acho que Mustis e Stian fazem falta pra caramba nos 2 últimos álbuns.
