This album is slaying it and it represents the crown of band's work during their golden era. It was filled with so many astonishing melodies, vocal parts of Vortex were beyond belief, keyboards were haunting, solos were amazing, Shagrath was killing it as well, not to mention Hellhammer performing magic behind the drums... ISD makes an (un)holy duality with Enthrone Darkness Triumphant as far as I'm concerned - and I also worship all the releases in between.
@Kriegsbeil55774 жыл бұрын
What sucks is that I remember reading about how Shagrath and Silenoz were planning 2 "sequel" albums to ISD as part of the Middle Ages/Crusades concept. But nooooooo, they had to go and fire Vortex and Mustis and instead we got ultra shitty Abrahadabra and Eonian instead. Still waiting for parts 2 and 3 of ISD, Dimmu!
@tyraxor8054 жыл бұрын
Well now they are planning to take more aggresive turn and the new bassist will be involved in the creation of new CD. We will see how it goes this time but for sure is better to continue band touring all over the world & playing old stuff than retire.

@@TheScaredofsilence I like Jared Dimes a lot but not everything he says is fact, Hellhammer is a phenomenal drummer who is fully capable of such stuff, a lot of drummers are, sure to someone who would be completely ignorant they'd think it's sped up or programmed or whatever but if you know a thing or 2 you understand that the dude just has mad skill!

@@raizencore hahaha didnt jared also say the guy of rings of saturn sped up his guitar videos and mimed it on video and live ? but i agree hellhammer is able to play that stuff , i dont think he would speed up something in the studio he couldnt pull off live . the song is about 150 bpm the majority is in 16th notes that would make the fast part 32th notes its tough to pull off but for sure not impossible with the right technique

There are so many metal albums out there that are just a collection of riffs forced together. This is the polar opposite. Each riff, fill, and groove collaborates and flows seamlessly from one to the next. Space when space is needed, notes when notes are needed. A true creation of top level alchemy and passion. Top 5 album for myself. I really just wish that they had kept this concept album approach past this one album (several more in an ongoing story were planned) with Hellhammer, ICS Vortex, and Mustis all at the helm. Sad to see such a great band implode in such a needless way. :(
