@Russ Bere 52 here. I was 14 when Screaming For Vengeance and Number Of The Beast came out. These two, plus Heaven And Hell, and Holy Diver started my wonderful, almost 40 year love affair with Metal! But do you remember right around then that the critics were saying "Oh, Heavy Metal won't be around for long! That genre is going to die off quickly!"? I was young and naive when I heard that and thought "NOOOOOO! It can't happen! It has to stay as it's SOOO GOOD!" How wrong the critics were! BTW, still have the '85 Kawi 900 Eiminator I bought new in high school plus an '02 Superglide I bought new and have put 168000kms(103000 miles) on over the years, and I agree, Metal and Motorcycles do go great together! Ride on Brother!

Very much 80's indeed. Takes me back somewhat to the sort of music I used to listen to back then in my 20's. Quite refreshing. However they sound a lot better produced in the studio than the live track I heard last week - Holy Diver cover - which was quite forgettable to be honest. But this I quite liked.

Yep, that's what is known as Traditional Metal these days. Anything that doesn't fit into any other category like Power, Thrash, or Hair Metal that has that 80s feel and sound to it. For example, the German band ACCEPT would be considered Traditional Metal even though they're still putting out albums. METAL CHURCH could also be considered Traditional Metal even though us 80s Metal heads thought it was Thrash back in the day. Thrash has a distinctive sound for the most part with a more chugging riff, and Power Metal has a galloping riff between the guitars (bass included) and the drums.
