What a blast from the past. Remember first playing the album and thinking "what the hell?" Then continuously listening to it. Great album.

I really like this song and this album, even when it was released. But in my humble opinion it did set their momentum to a halt (more so with following album). I really believe that they were becoming very popular band at the time (not Sepultura level, but still huge) and were about to hit the next big step. Unfortunately it just didnt work out and they never recovered (popularity wise) from this. I really believe they deserve more. They still release killer music so far into their carrier. Live thought....kinda meh.

Tbh this is the exact style I love the most by Paradise Lost. With that little words but so deep and thought-provoking. And the music is absolutely insane. Huge shout out to Greg for the solos from Darker Thoughts, Fall From Grace and the mindblowing verse riff from Ghosts

Almost the same for me. I listened to guitar driven music before, but One Second was my introduction to darker and heavier sounds. Just a few weeks later I began listening to Draconian Times and played it daily for at least a year. Paradise Lost unlocked a whole world of sonic art for me.

And for one second, I lost my breath And for one second, I cherish what you said And for one second, it seemed that I was here all alone Hold back the tears that could fall for me And for one second, I understand And for one second, my life was in your hands And for one second, you wish that you were here all alone Hold back the tears that could fall for me, they fall alone.

I've started listening to Paradise Lost in 1992 or 1993, don't remember exactly , Icon just came out... so it was 1993... I was immediately hooked in! There is no weak album... But that is nearly 30 years already, and NIck still sings false. Couldn't he find a vocal teacher all this time? Well we accept him as he is, and learned to not pay too much attention.
