Biological Chemistry is not my field. I'm in economy, national accounts, societal cost-benefit analyses, societal transitions, transportation etc. And yet these classes are entertaining and informative. Video's like this make me suspect that Massive Open Online Courses are the way to go for 80% of the higher education anywhere in the world, leaving more time and resources open for teachers like Fink to apply their unique didactical skills in a customized, individual way.

I have to say that while you're an excellent teacher, I was starting to lose my mind with review. BUT I'm SO GRATEFUL now!! We take all of these classes and no one puts the pieces together. I took college Physio & for an example; we were just supposed to know a chemical called "CoA" that performed a function. We were told it didn't matter, we didn't have time to bother with what it meant. So I sort of forgot about it. And I took nutrition courses so I knew all of the vitamins & minerals & what they are useful for. But it's ABSURD to me that no one ever explained that vitamins are like steroid hormones & minerals like electrolytes and they all are coenzymes that assist in reactions. It's amazing to have a teacher put the chemistry, anatomy etc all together to really explain Physio. I have maybe 300-350 college units. THANK YOU SO MUCH for your help. I always say that I can't learn something well, let alone remember it, if I don't understand how it works and see the complete picture. So so much of these classes is sharing parts of concepts. We really do need strong pre-requisites as a foundation and then upper division teachers who teach like you do (but without having to reteach students who glossed over the prerequisites). Vitamins and minerals were always a random concept to me, they didn't make sense in premed because all of what this is is FORM & FUNCTION, and efficient machine with all its parts and the problems and solutions (disease). I'm so excited to learn about all of the other things I don't know I missed-to fill the gaping holes in this big puzzle. I'd LOVE to learn Micro, pathology, biochem from you too. Particularly Micro Seemed like it needed to be 2 semesters or just different. 🙏🙏🙏💗
