Thanks for your video. Great to see other people’s comments about the NuFace primer. Now I know I’m not alone. After less than a week of using it my face looked so dry and crinkled and much older. Luckily I’d already heard about using pure Aloe Vera gel and have been using that ever since with no problem. I dispense it from the tube into a small jar and apply to my face with a flat brush. It saves on gel and keeps my hands clean and dry while using the NuFace. Yes it does dry on the skin quite quickly and spraying a fine mist of water is great and saves re applying more gel.

Does the aloe gel need to be 100% aloe? I have a lot of Benton's Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel, and was hoping I can use that! I love my Nuface Mini and tried using an organic aloe vera gel from Wholefoods. Sadly, my skin broke out in a red rash. Luckily it went away after 2 hours. I never had that issue with Nuface's gel. The aloe wasn't an oil based gel and was a very clean product ingredient wise. I'm not sure what happened. Just thought I'd share incase this might be helpful for others.
@TheOrganicEsthetician6 жыл бұрын
Laura Mennell Totally helpful. Sorry you had a reaction. I only suggest gel alternatives because I want cleaner ingredients in my skincare. Not everyone feels this way. So definitely use the gel if it works for you. I found that aloe with other ingredients in it, reacted poorly with the device as well. This is why I mostly just stick with the ASAP Silver gel.
@lauramennell42646 жыл бұрын
I prefer natural/organic products as well. That's why I loved the suggestion and was hoping the aloe would work. Luckily, I just tried colloidal silver gel last night and it worked well. How often can I use this on my skin without going blue?! ;) Love your channel!

Laura Mennell Glad you liked the silver! The only time people turn blue from silver is due to ingesting homemade silver. So you’re fine with topical use.

I just got 99% aloe gel and the exact same red rash happened so I'm hesitant to use it again. I guess that 1% of other stuff is no good with the device.
@TheOrganicEsthetician6 жыл бұрын
Jo Maby I thought you were using colloidal silver gel? The redness isn’t the end of the world. It subsided after about 30 mins. I find that sometimes the device on its own can cause some redness. Ultimately, it’s an active treatment. I’ve personally found a combo of aloe and silver works well for me. You can always use a hyaluronic acid gel or any oil free water based serum.

kristineterp hi there while the TEA is mildly toxic on its own, a very small quantity is necessary to make a gel. However it is then burnt off during the formulation process, passing none of its ickiness on to you. jack ver Yay! I think the gels are close in regards to hydration but the silver has more healing benefits. If you’re super dry, try layering a water-based serum under the gel. An oil free Hyaluronic acid would be fantastic. But ultimately, you can layer on oils and more moisture after you NuFace.

@TheOrganicEsthetician5 жыл бұрын
Deirdre Gillespie you can use any oil free serum or gel as conductivity. Aloe works but it’s not always super conductive on its own. I like the ASAP silver gel cause it’s more conductive and antimicrobial. Some sheet masks work as well. Also, you can apply the NuFace gel then Rehydrate it with a toner or even with water to make it last longer on the face.

Hi Katie, can something like the NEUTROGENA Hydro Boost Gel-Cream be used as a conductivity gel so I don't have to rinse it off? I don't see any oils in the ingredients: Water, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Cetearyl Olivate, Polyacrylamide, Sorbitan Olivate, Phenoxyethanol, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Synthetic Beeswax, C13_14 Isoparaf_n, Dimethiconol, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Chlorphenesin, Laureth_7, Carbomer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexylglycerin, C12_14 Pareth _12, Sodium Hydroxide.
@TheOrganicEsthetician6 жыл бұрын
Veronica Q while the cetearyl olivate is an olive oil derivative and comes in the form of a oily waxy emulsion which might interfere with the microcurrent, that isn’t why I would say to avoid using this product not just with microcurrent but in general. Do you see all the Dimethicone in there? Dimethicone is a synthetic polymer used to make products feel smooth and almost slippery on the skin. It’s incredibly pore clogging and can be really irritating to the skin, especially acneic skin in addition to being dehydrating, trapping dirt and debris and interfering with cell regeneration. It’s also just a really cheap ingredient and, when included in so many forms on an ingredient list, a great way to tell quality or rather lack there of. If you’re not interested in specifically chemical free products, I’d recommend NuFace’s leave on serum primers. While it does contain chemical preservatives, it at least also includes beneficial ingredients like gold, algae, peptides, hyaluronic acid and can be left on the skin post NuFace treatment.

Jennifer Liebo it definitely could I had never really thought about it. Might do some research and look into that further. You definitely could use a thick oil free serum however I think you’d end up eating through product fast. I’d suggest layering the serum under your gel. Cristina Risso water on its own is technically a conductor but it’s REALLY zippy and dries fast. I tend to do a layer of gel and then Rehydrate areas with water as I get to them. You also get better “slip” this way. The device pulls at the skin less.

Can your recommended products also be used effectively with the Jenu? Jenu markets their overpriced gel as containing micro-particles that help to push moisturizer into the skin. But I found Jenu to be very disingenuous and deceptive with their marketing. Their gel is advertised as a 2 month supply but when I began using it on my face an neck, it lasted a little over 1 week! When I emailed Jenu about the discrepancy, I was told their description was based on a spot treatment. That’s ridiculous, considering they promote greater absorption of moisturizer as one of the main benefits so obviously, it’s reasonable to assume people will use it on their entire face and neck. I can understand a manufacturer's desire to make a profit on consumables but this is just greed.
@TheOrganicEsthetician6 жыл бұрын
LorenzoNW so I’m less familiar with the Jenu device. I looked it up when I saw your comment. It looks like it’s just ultrasonic. Every other ultrasonic device I’ve used has not needed a conductive gel, just Hydrating skincare for the device to glide over the skin, pushing product deeper for more efficacy. Conductivity gel is only needed for electricity or sound waves to pass through the skin. From what I can tell, the Jenu uses neither. Therefore I’d think you’d be okay with out a gel. Again, not a Jenu expert. I really don’t see any harm in attempting use without a gel. Worst case scenario, you get shocked or have less dramatic results. Let me know what you figure out!
