Would you be interested in giving us a tour of the tractors in your yard and whether you intend restoring them? Thanks for the video, very informative!

Yes you can do this to a 472 but is there not already a return point there for the low pressure filter?
@montegoson7 жыл бұрын
On reflection a early 472 might not have an oil return in this position.

Can you do this to a leyland 472 ?
@davidfarmer32187 жыл бұрын
how do you get the engine oil pump off of a Leyland 282?
@montegoson7 жыл бұрын
Never done one, but I think you have to remove the balancer first. Buy a workshop manual or you may put the balancer back incorrectly!

@montegoson Hi! I was looking at the casting on the video and I saw on the right side (opposite of the hydraulic valve quick connect) you have something connected there. I usually see a plug on that spot yet you have something there. What is the function of that spot?
@montegoson3 жыл бұрын
It’s a bespoke hydraulic filter. I don’t use draught control so have connected the second chamber of the pump to a filter.
@Diglo13 жыл бұрын
@@montegoson So usually the spot the plug doesnt serve any purpose or isn't connected anywhere?
@montegoson3 жыл бұрын
Yes internally it’s connected to the lift cylinder. I have deleted that and connected the second section of the pump to there. I have done a second modification since and the filtered oil now continues to the draught control.

New to the channel but enjoying what im seeing. Wonder if you could help me. Ive got a Nuffield 1042 and want to put a log splitter on it, i can see on the left hand side of the pto there is a old style threaded coupling for tipping a trailer. Is that what i need to change to a QR coupling? And do you know where is best to return the oil to? Or will i have to tap and drill same as this video. Hope you can point me in the right direction. Many thanks
@montegoson3 жыл бұрын
Hi, the left port is linked to the lift cylinder, better to use the right port. Oil can be returned to the large brass filler plug just in front of the seat.
@lewysedwards10683 жыл бұрын
@@montegoson brilliant, thankyou. Is there then a way to get a constant pump flow without hydraulic arms being raised all the way up?
@montegoson3 жыл бұрын
@@lewysedwards1068 Yes use the right hand outlet, it is operated by the inner lever and has priority over the linkage!
