This really is the ideal little camper van. It fits right between standard camper vans and something bigger because it has the separate kitchen and a toilet. Now to have a shower some how would make it absolutely perfect - not an outside one!

Wow, your new van is fantastic and so high! It was clear to see your excitement and lovely to share. I can’t wait to see inside when you do your van tour. We are also collecting our new van next Friday the 18th, it’s a MWB (5.4m), high top, Peugeot Boxer, it’s the same layout as Jits from Jits into the Sunset on KZbin. We’re also having a problem with our drive because we’ve just done it to fit our SWB Ford Transit but now we need to widen it because we also need a car! Nice problems to have 😁. Cool! Nice you guys watched it together and I’m sure you can relate to our excitement..Nuggets Rule!!! We are over the moon with it…plus I have been watching some of your back catalogue to gain some info. Gorgeous van. Love our Nugget Plus Pop Top (same colour as yours by the way) the extra space must be amazing for you but ours fits in the garage, just, so it's hidden away.

We um’d and ar’d about the advantages and disadvantages Richard…it’s not clear cut. We love pop tops too, so is a bit of a departure from the cool looks for us. The overiding decision was the all weather useability/noise/temperature benefits etc. I’m hoping to make a covered (high!) car-port further down the garden next year after our house renovations/extension. Nice to hear you can get yours tucked away in the garage though, and a wonderful colour choice if I do say so…☺️

@@CaliCamperFamily Life is full of compromises! They’ll be days I’d like that extra space and we did have a windy night that was “interesting”. I love our van though, we finally got it in October so it’s only really been weekends away, NEC show soon where we hope to get a decent awning and as the weather gets warmer some longer trips. The main thing is we are both making memories with our families in special ways, look forward to seeing your adventures. Have thought about doing a KZbin channel but realise it is a lot of work! We really appreciate seeing what you do. Keep up the brilliant work. R

Congratulations! I've been following your channel for a while. Awesome! We are also a family with 3 daughters and ordered our ford nugget plus high roof last year. Coincidentally in the same color. We are still anxiously waiting. I have a very practical question: Where do you keep all the shoes? When we go camping, we easily take 10 pairs of shoes with us. (sandals, hiking boots, sneakers,… times 5). Where do you put it in the nugget? Thanks for the fun content! If you come across the same nugget with a Belgian number plate this summer, honk!

Hey Wannes…always good to hear from another family of 5, especially when you are Nugget fans! Well done on your order, and we’ll definitely look out for a Belgian registered Chrome Blue Nugget…! We’ll flag you down and share a bottle of something! As regards the shoes, you bring up an extremely good point. With our previous Nugget, we tried many different ways to solve the shoe problem, including seriously limiting footwear, but not always convenient. So, we are going to be trying several new solutions to this, including removing the Westfalia deck-chairs and having a purpose-built fabric shoe container made. Another solution is using the shelf above the rear door (up high in the roof) and having a bag made for the purpose. Stay tuned! Thanks for the message and good luck with yours 👍🏻😃

I am beyond thrilled for your family and this new and exciting adventure. I am curious to know how you feel about the left hand drive (which is normal for me in the USA). When I would drive in the UK on visits, having the right hand drive made it easier for me to remember on which side of the road to drive. Your new Nugget Plus is beautiful.

LHD is normal for us as we live in Italy. We are British, but moved many years ago now. You get used to left/right hand drive if you swap around regularly. We own LHD and RHD vehicles and other than remembering which side to get in, you largely forget once youre driving! @@CaliCamperFamily How did I miss that you live in Italy? I live in the hill country in central Texas. My husband and I have a Mercedes Sprinter camper van that is all electric and we travel with our Westie named Winston. Being in the middle of Texas means we have to drive many, many miles to see the national parks and other interesting places. I think the Nugget Plus has a great layout and I hope some day they will be available in the USA.

Hello to you both (and your dog) in Texas! I did flight training in Texas many years ago and loved it. All electric Sprinter?? Have you a Vlog on this, would love to see how it works! Mercedes Sprinters have a great reputation so I guess would make a good base vehicle for electric…but with the distances you have to travel, I’m intrigued! Best wishes from Italy.

@@CaliCamperFamily All electric yes, but it is from 2011, so it is pre all the wonderful boondocking equipment. We do need to plug into the electrics if we plan to use the power for more than a day. It is an extremely comfortable camper for both driving and sleeping. We are near San Antonio; where did you do flight training?

Very nice 👍🏻😎. I've got a Ford Transit custom Devon Firefly hightop automatic (which also has a toilet with a door) the gearbox is as good as the dsg auto I had in my Audi A3.

I totally agree, it is a viable alternative to the Grand California. Also, the Grand is not an option if you need 5 travelling seats. Autobox is very smooth, although not sure if it is a dual clutch…it is termed ‘Powershift’ I think - very pleased with it. Thanks for commenting 👍🏻

Is the high top version available in the UK do you know? Trying to search and can't come up with anything. Also did you have to wait a long time for it to be built? We like these very much. Probably will go for pop top due to various reasons and yet may have to consider the High top if available. Just a few considerations that we will need to make to choose between them. I think the nugget plus is my favourite. I was bothered by the open loo but just watched your mod video to enclose it so decision made I think but just need to consider high top or not if available.

Hi Louise, thanks for watching our videos and glad you are finding them useful! Waiting lists are long of you order one from scratch, over a year typically. You may be very lucky if you act quick to find a dealer demo (rare) or a second hand one. They are very new on the UK market so second hand will be difficult, but you never know! The hard top is still not available to order for the UK market, which I find incredible. However, the Nugget Plus pop top is awesome and you get more room in the kitchen area. We absolutely love ours and so do the kids! Good luck, it’s worth it 😃

these Van's are a rip off £60,000 new you could buy a farely new van and convert it yourself for half that.

Hi Darren, yes…it’s true what you say, but in many countries you are not allowed to do it yourself as it would require homologising for the road. Also, many people don’t have either the skills/tools/facility to convert a van, or the time. And then there’s the resale value of a non-factory conversion to consider. Yes, they are relatively expensive, but the product is superb.

Can i know why your driving a van as a family car? Because it’s against the law to drive van’s as a family car. You can only drive this for commercial or charity purposes. If you really want to do a family trip in these then you need to hire a commercial driver who drives motorhomes for buisness to do it for you and the van must not be owned by you or parked at your house.
