Before series I had Denver in 6. Minnesota is terrific and really put it to the Nuggets on their own home floor. By Jokic's standards it was less than what his team needed and he had a lot of turnovers games 1-2. No excuses there, but he made the adjustments needed -- taking better care of the ball, took Gobert on head-to-head so he couldn't just roam and play help defense, took Naz head on, etc.

One could make a strong argument that this series is the true finals of the entire postseason. Whoever wins this series is likely to win the chip. The Knicks aren't advancing because they're too injured, the Cavs aren't advancing because they're not talented enough, and it's hard to imagine the Pacers posing any threat to the Nuggets or the Wolves. The Celtics can be a contender again if Porzingis gets healthy, but there's no guarantee that will happen.

I think the way the offense runs through Jokic is more similar to how everything Houston did revolv around Hakeem, and Hakeem was playing at a DIFFERENT level during those championship runs, just like Jokic is doing now.

It was predictable in a way that Denver can win the series. Wolves offense is not great and it can be stopped, Denver just needed to play better. Game 2 they just fell mentally and refs killed them with no calls. This is how they used to play. It was predictable that they will lose first game to Wolves, because of how bad they played against Lakers, everyone predicted that but no one predicted that they could shake it off. Game 2 they just started with too much pressure, their overwhelming desire to perform killed them on the spot, and they got into emotions.

These past two games just prove that the series isn't over until all the required games are played. Anthony Edwards has a great attitude and I think he's already better than LeBron ever was. I like Ant. He’s cocky but he has the game to back it up unlike Ja. Do people forget how arrogant and cocky Muhammad Ali, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Deion Sanders all were as athletes? Steve Jobs was arrogant and cocky. MJ showed up in the ‘85 ASG with a gold chain around his neck and still wore it when participating in the dunk contest. Larry Bird was the biggest trash talker there ever was. “Which mfer is coming in 2nd?” Kobe was called Showboat by his teammates as he would attempt 360 dunks in a breakaway in his first two years. I like what Ant is saying and doing here. It shows he’s not afraid of these defending champions. He’s fearless. It can motivate him for Game 5. He did show up for this game except the other guys didn’t. And this was after he held accountability for the Game 2 loss. I do think Minnesota will eventually lose this series whether it’s in 6 or 7. Minnesota and OKC are showing their inexperience already after a good start. Denver might be to Ant what Detroit was to MJ. The last obstacle before getting over the hump to win a ring. His team is not ready for it yet. He is but not his teammates similar to MJ from ‘88 to ‘90. Scottie and Horace were still a bit too soft. KAT remains soft. It’s still Denver’s reign as champs for the next 2-3 years. Ant will eventually get a ring but he needs to taste the losing and heartbreaks first. Denver is my favorite team still playing but Ant is my favorite player to watch. Great personality. There’s an alpha dog in him. This series will end in 6. Maybe in 7 if Denver doesn’t show up in Minny for that Game 6. Anthony Edwards is THAT guy. He’s the one. But when comparing him to 80s MJ, was that 80s Jordan winning rings yet? No. If it goes 7, Minny is not winning a Game 7 in Denver. Michael Malone figured it out. In Game 3, don’t let Ant beat them. In Game 4, let Ant score but don’t let anyone else beat them. All Denver needs to do is stop KAT. Gobert can’t score and McDaniels and Reid are still under the age of 25. Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. have a similar career path as Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. Weren’t all-stars for several years. Still made the HoF. Tony Parker: 6x all-star Manu Ginobili: 2x all-star Jamal and MPJ are already “stars” to a lot of people’s eyes. Rodman made two all-star games. Divac made one in 2001 and Kukoc made zero. All three are in the Hall of Fame. Michael Cooper had zero all-star selections like Kukoc and he’s entering the HoF this summer. I wonder how long Jokic will play basketball? It’s not his favorite sport. It’s horse racing. He only plays basketball as a means to an end to use the money to take care of his horses. Yao Ming only played 9 years. Jokic is already a first ballot HoFer. Jokic doesn’t seem like the type who wants to play for 20 years. Say Jokic does play up to 20 seasons, then Denver is simply not going away. His game wasn’t built on athleticism. Less wear and tear on his body similar to Kareem. All these LeBron fans say how this era is more athletic than Jordan’s era or the 80s but then the best player today happens to be a guy who isn’t much of an athlete. We are witnessing the making of a future dynasty with Denver. They’re not done for a while. I like them because they drafted their best players. They don’t rely on mercenary free agents to save them that my Clippers did to copy the Fakers. They just play. No drama. Jokic is humble, funny, quirky, and only cares about taking care of his horses. Jamal Murray is who Dame Lillard wanted to be. Clutch but with rings to prove it with the team that drafted him. Jamal has been so good these last two games, we forgot about his bj video his gf did to him. Lakers ended up doing the same thing to Jamal in Game 2 and 5. 😂 They ended up sicking his duck. Jamal was ticked when that bj video with his gf was referenced in a game. Had a heckler kicked out for it. Gilbert Arena, the xenophobe that he is, watched his Fakers lose to an unathletic Serbian and a Canadian with a blowjob video. I wonder what trash takes he’ll say about foreign born players after Denver wins again next June? Got to have trash takes to grab people’s attention. Nick Wrong has used that method for a decade. I do believe when we get our Boston vs. Denver Finals next month, it’s going to be a lot more competitive than Miami vs. Denver. I see it go at least 6 games since Boston will have homecourt advantage. But I’m putting my money on Jokic and Murray than that law firm of Tatum & Brown. Best big man & wing duo since Shaq and Kobe.

Things can still go either way, stars can get injured, sick, or worse, they can play like shit and complain to the refs. A lot can happen in the next couple of games. I think there's even an advantage to wild inconsistency such as seen in Jamal Murray. Contrast his deadly unpredictability with KA Towns who carries no advantage at all when he's playing like shit. Aaron Gordon was the game 4 MVP. Dude showed up to that game confidently playing roles he's never good at. And he dominated. Leaders rise to the occasion that is laid before them instead of bitching about things not going their way.

I don't think much emphasis is being placed on having 3 days off between Games 2 and 3. That gave Michael Malone more than enough time to completely scrap the game plan and switch it up, namely not having Joker bring the ball up. I love great coaching, watching an ATG pick himself up off the mat and the rise of an up-and-coming megastar take responsibility for his shortcomings. This is what basketball should be and I'm here for all of it.

I wouldn't even begin to understand how US trades work, in the premier league the richest team swoops in and buys your best players. I hope these young players don't get swept in to become supporting cast members to some aging egomaniac in the next couple of seasons. Jokic made no excuses for the first two losses and kept his poise and demeanor and lead his team to back into the series. Thats why he’s the best player in the world. This is the Jokic era but he has some hungry young guys nipping at his feet in Edwards, Luka or Shai to get through first. They are ready to take over if there is any slippage by Denver! Kudos to Aaron Gordon on a phenomenal Game 3 and esp 4. He’s been outstanding. I think that long layoff between Games 2 and 3, really helped the Nuggets regroup and now we have a series! Hopefully Minnesota can keep their heads and come out strong in the next two games, so we can have an epic Game 7!

So essentially in game 1 and 2, The referees allowed the wolves and nuggets to be physical which each other. Normal fouls weren’t called as often and this play style favored the wolves. Then the nba realized such a potentially high revenue series would be a sweep, they had to change something. They started calling ticky-tac fouls on the wolves and nuggets which was still technically “fair”, but this style of reffing favored the nuggets slow and methodical style and got the wolves in foul trouble. Now for the rest of the series, the wolves have to play not physically so I would assume nuggets in 6 or 7.
