As much as anything, the story of the relationship between the architect and the owner interested me. The Owners, natives of a large city, took a chance and the architect showed thoughtful and sensitive respect for the owners design brief. The result is an original and beautiful building that has expanded its owner's lives. The owners chose their architect carefully and they extended trust to handle their investment. In return, the architect honored their trust and thought carefully about the owner's sense of space and personal comfort aesthetic and how that could happily marry with the land where the building is located. Lovely for generations.

Never thought I'd fall in love with a geometric concrete house but here I am! I love the views from the inside, looking out to the greenery. In this kind of private neighborhood, it's a good idea to have non-closable windows for a better view of the environment. Thanks for sharing such a lovely home

This is a very intelligent house, and you can really appreciate its architecture. It’s not to my personal taste, but it is incredible, and the important thing is that the owners love it and get so much out of it. Thankyou for this video. You guys always do great work showcasing architecture, allowing us to understand the architect’s view and what the owners get out of it. 👍

With such a beautiful location it is sad that they are not interested in landscapes! But at the end they are happy.

Yes. I was a bit confused ... That's what the clients seem to be saying, initially. BUT the open outer shell HAS filled the space in-between with oversized planted landscape. Imagine soaking in that open air bathtub, all the senses, looking up at the sky through leaves. Inferior landscaping (super common in my USA) would actually have set us further apart from the natural landscape. Heightened demarcation, not dynamic integration, the 3 clients report enjoying here! Today's landscape profession has evolved well beyond a typical contractor's limited vision. Too often, these professionals aren't enlisted for residential projects.

Always love the use of big concrete slabs. Makes for clean lines and almost brutalist type of design. Can't enjoy this video without envy. Amazing home that is beautiful, modern and liveable.

The Architect should Respond the Context, which can be adjusted not only the site but also what client's Desire, Dream, and Pain. Window House is an Example and the Result is Amazing.

It looks like the ‘bird nest house’ to me … I can’t define it as beautiful but weird looking. If I were the owner, I wouldn’t go for this design.. it’s so concrete in a forest hill ! I would go for a design that Would blend in the surrounding landscape so that it looks natural and balance.

There's a catch with concrete major structure, the carbon emissions, a major factor that shall be considered in today's architecture. Sure, the raw language is unparalleled, it is not worth it however to disregard the environment.

I honesty tried to approach this with an open mind, but the building is a monstrosity. No fault of the architect as the client had really bad taste. It was clear that this was a missed opportunity to build something outstanding in the plot of land.

Ngl, the only thing thats brilliant is probably the stargazing roof porch at the top.. Its sort of tilted in 30° yet its not flat liked normal RC roof.... But other than that, it looks liked its not finished product especially the origami shell.. it looks liked any retaining wall at any local highway..

for the past 2 centuries design trends are periodically being recycled and reinvented, evident in fashion world, so as in architecture. raw, exposed and unfinished concrete was famous in 1950s and was called brutalist architecture. Many local architects have begun to adapt this into their works, and many corporate and private clients have begun to accept them and appreciate them. the idea is to demonstrate the material in its purest and genuine form, just like Alicia key going make-up free and wishing that everyone can appreciate flaws and natural beauty.😉
