I love how innovative you guys are! As an engineer, I also really appreciate how much detail you dive into when describing what makes your products new and interesting. Very few other manufacturers are highlighting fluid dynamics and improved laminar flow when demonstrating their taps. Keep up the outstanding work and I'll keep buying and using your products. Quick question:. Are the Nukatap faucet threads compatible with Intertap?

Yeah the Intertap taps have been a great tap. Would totally agree and probably no need to upgrade any time soon. The intertap taps will probably last a decade before needing a seal change if you are not pouring sour beers.

I'm sold. But have you guys figured out a decent way to pre-chill the tap prior to pouring beer? Maybe a parallel chilled-water flow with a small water bottle kept in the kegerator? Or what about a jacketed design where you can push refrigerant (even just chilled water) through the hollow sides of a tap to quick-chill it? Like pushing kegerator-chilled water into the tap jacket inlet, branch it into 4 channels to more evenly distribute the water across the tap's beer path, then they gather at the outlet for the return trip to the kegerator's water reservoir. A clever design would be a 2-way tap handle: push backwards to chill the tap, pull forwards to dispense beer. An alternative would be having an "always on" circulation system which keeps the tap chilled all the time which would be handy for bars, probably overkill for at-home use, though. (Not sure how much energy that'd consume continually recycling the coolant, possibly not much, but probably significant over a year's time.)

Yes that would certainly work but with the Nukataps the design and thermal mass is substantially optimized so even without any chilling on the tap the first glass only has a small amount of extra foam.

Put a couple in the fridge tonight to replace some perfectly good ultra tap fc’s. No more hollow pours so I am happy! Have flow control disconnects which seem to be a perfect combo.

Several questions @KegLand 1- When will this be available in the US? 2- Are there any parts of the Nukataps interchangeable with the Intertaps? 3- Will the same Intertap tips (Stout, ball lock, etc.) work with the Nukataps? Other than that, I really like what you guys are doing. I have 6 Intertaps and the only only complaint is the occasional "grinding" when opening/closing the tap. They don't seem to be as smooth as the Perlicks I had were, but they don't seem to have any leak issues as well. Also, I recently swapped out all my gas/beer lines to the EVA Barrier 5mm/4mm ID lines. I'm very pleased. No more dumping out the oxidized beer in my lines after going a day or two from the last pint. The amber ale I have on tap now still tastes as fresh as it did the last time I pulled a pint, which was a few days ago.

Yes the spouts, self closing springs, bonnet washers and washer between the tap shank and tap body are compatible. We tried to make the parts as compatible as possible.

First of all, congratulations on the products. Kegland has opened my mind with great solutions for serving fresh beer. I built a system with an old cooler box, ball valves, cap carbonators and tees. NUKATAP is the icing on the cake. The only difficulty I'm having is finding the correct tightness on the tap assembly. After I disassembled for the first time to wash, the automatic spring closing system no longer works. I tried to loosen up a little until the tap turned off on its own, but it started to leak at the base of the handle. Do you recommend using any food lubricant on the pivot ball of the tap to make the spring work easier?

I am glad you have raised this issue. You are right and using some lubricant on the ball will help this issue. With that said we have a better solution which is the new seal kit. You might notice from the older Nukatap taps that we used a black or white cup seals that was made from Nylon and this required lubrication. On the new Nukatap taps we changed this over and we now use a self lubricating grade of HDPE which is made by Borealis. This new grade is even more chemcially resistant but is also more slipery as it has lubricants impregnated into the HDPE resin. You will notice the difference as these new seal kits have RED cup seals rater than the BLACK or WHITE ones used in the past. Generally speaking if the seals are in good condition when the tap is assembled they will pretty much never wear out. We have done extensive durability testing and you should never actually need to replace seals. The highest risk of damage of the seals is when they are dissassembled and re-assembled rather than failing due to wear and tear. So just be careful not to scratch the seals when inserting or removing them and they will last foreever.

@@tassoteixeira4173 Ok great news. Have you noticed that with the red cup seals you can use much less pressure on the bonnet and still get a good seal. You should also notice that the tap will move back and forth more easily.

The flow control version doesn’t seal properly between the body and the shank. The plastic piece that is meant to form a seal doesn’t work no matter how tight it is

We have noticed that if you have any dents or damage to the shank this can be an issue. sometimes it can be solved by just tightening a little more however the if you have a dent in the sealing face of the shank and/or its not machined smooth then this can be an issue and the shank should be replaced. Alternatively an o-ring can be fitted however it's really an issue with a damaged shank.

Id like to see you guys build a faucet with the creamer action (push the tap away from you to create foam).. the only company I've really seen do it successfully is CM Becker.. but they are very pricey to get to Aus and rightfully so being one of the best brands in the world.. Yes that is one of the other reasons why the tap design had changed. We needed a little more space between the front of the tap and the bonnet to fit in mechanical components such as "creamer" function. So i the future this will be one of the shuttles that you will be able to use. So if you take out the normal shuttle and replace with cremer shuttle this will most likely be a product soon too.

The seal kits will be available in about 2 months. With that said I would be very surprised if you need to replace any seals in the first 5 years. More likely you will never ever replace a seal on this model of tap.

We have already finished the testing and for this testing we did not use the Robot arm as it was kinda overkill. A air cylinder can just as easily be used but I guess it doesnt quite make as good a video. If we get more requests for bringing robots into the video we will make some more videos like that last one.

Hey guys, I bought my Stealth Bomber nukataps probably 12ish months ago from MoreBeer and did a deep clean of them over the weekend. Unfortunately after the deep clean all the beautiful black powdercoat is coming off my taps. The faucet tips are now completely stainless (all paint gone) and the bodies are starting to peel as well. Can anything be done about this? I obviously can't put the paint back on so is there something you can recommend I soak these in to get the rest of the paint off? As much as I'd hate to do it, the peeling paint looks bad so I'd prefer to just have a stainless tap at this point. It's a huge bummer I paid a premium for the all black taps and they've started to peel less than a year into use.

With respect to "robustness" of the coating the the black coating meets the ASTMD968-83 standard whereby silicon carbide is dropped onto the surface to test abrasion resistance. With other soft metals like brass it's possible to chemically bond the black to the brass more easily but we also do not want to sell a brass tap as we do not see this as an acceptable outcome. With that said stainless steel is inherently non-reactive and for this reason it is difficult to improve the bonding between the black coating and the stainless steel substrate. Generally speaking the tap spouts suffer most of the abuse so if you really want to have black taps i think the best compromise is the "Punisher" edition: www.kegland.com.au/nukatap-punisher-edition.html This model gives you the black look but then the spout is not coated so when you have chemicals and glassware knocking on the spout it will not cause the coating to deteriorate.
