Let's dive in to the world of fluid morphs/jump cuts. We will go over a fluid morph gizmo I created that is very similar to the morph blend gizmo.
We will also discuss some of the things that are important to pay attention to when you are doing fluid morphs for a client.

In you get a lot of artifacts in high contrast areas it sometimes can be improved by processing kronos/oflow in log space, but this also Count for tools like vector Generator.

Nice video! Another thing I do to deal with the sudden movements and ghosting is to add a Kronos on either side of the fluid morph and slow/speed up the movements to better match the other plate during the morph. Usually adjusting it a few frames is enough to get it lined up without having to paint any artifacts out. You could also subtly gridwarp something like the actresses mouth just enough to get rid of the ghosting on the teeth during the morph. Just some other ideas, thanks for posting this!

Also make sure that your client gives you enough frames to match the ref.

Hi ! First : thanks for all your hard work ! Second : I may need some help ^^ When I go to Kronos in the fluid morph node, it's all greyed out and I can't change any settings. Is that because I'm using a non commercial Nuke version ? Thanks a lot !

Hi yes that is probably the reason. I’ve never tried to use it on non-commercial

Don't know where to turn to. I need help. I used nuke to create end credits for a student film that has to be 30 seconds long. It is jittery when animating the text and pictures to scroll. I it's 24 frame rate on the project setting and export settings. I used the text node and then group them and had that scroll from bottom to top for 724 frames. Nothing I do stops it from being jittery like the frames are off. like a bad motion blurr. what can I do to fix this?

wow, honestly, i did not know that this type of work has a specific name 'fluid morph'. how would you approach same shot but if it would be a moving camera/motion?

Most of the fluid morphs I’ve done do have a camera movement which may require some tracking and patching, overall the first steps are the same to create your morph…then depending on what’s happening with your footage you continue on with whatever integration techniques are needed for that shot.
