I visited Chernobyl in 2019. The town of Pripyat where they are staying actually does have residents. Maybe a demon caused the accident.. there's many ways to put up stories but often child spirits remain and they look for the first person they'd go for comfort when they are alive. A parent, in this case the mother. Some spirits relive or try to imitate their last moments to communicate so this could be a case like that. What do ya'll think?
