Nuke Tutorial - Camera Projection
In this Nuke tutorial I show you how you can remove unwanted object, equipment or even actors from your shot using camera projection. Camera projection can be used to create clean plates or to clean up shots for VFX use. Camera projection is one of the most used techniques in VFX.

This exactly, these tutorials have the perfect speed to learn ratio for people who already know a bit of the work. Other tutorials will cover how the cameratracker works again, how a roto works again, etc.. this is perfect.

You could have created that card to match the ground by selecting the points from the floor and right clicked it. Then selected 'Create Card' , It'd thenmatch without manual transforms.

instead of animating the roto. you can simply cut the plate just after framehold with a merge or copy premult. still a nice tutorial

Hey!! very nice tutorial, I just have a question a technical doubt, could it work if you use your roto without animating and put it right below the frame hold? so it moves with the track? or you can get issues?

So if I wanted to put a crack in the ground, I would blend the card like you did here and export to Houdini to crack the card? I'm confused on the subject of adding 3d destruction to real life objects in footage.

Do you have any videos on how to composite 3D animated models and rigs from Maya to Nuke in a live action VFX backplate, and with camera tracking? There is one digital tutors video, but my school subscription expired.

Is it possible to insert 3D models into footage in Nuke and if yes, do you think it's better or worse than After Effects? If it's possible, can we see some tutorials?
@Ruan3D
@Ruan3D 9 жыл бұрын
You can import 3d models into nuke and light them etc, but I prefer to do camera tracking in nuke then round trip to 3dsmax and composite your render passes in Nuke again. More tutorials on that coming soon!

nice illustration cheers to u . please c if u can create a in-depth and complex 3d projection using 3ds max and nuke i am facing issues when i export cam from 3ds max to nuke (non-ortho error) so all hard work is of no use, Maya exports it well but my skill in Maya intermediate (i cant match perspective and model from images in maya) if u have any good tutorial pls give a link cheers!!!!
@ghiassie
@ghiassie 8 жыл бұрын
+soumitra vaze i think you need to update your 3ds max fbx exporter. but if you sure maya exporter is ok you can send your scen from max to maya then export to nuke.

im not sure but its not hard to test. just download fbx converter from usa.autodesk.com/fbx/download/ and convert your files then import to nuke.

You can try the Alembic format... it's the industry standard in vfx... ( .abc files)

but whats the point of doing that when you could just roto pain on all frames, i think this is a completely useless example.
