I think Queen Dowagers or Queen Mothers are expected to remain sexless in order to project that pure image that people expect from them. For example, in the book, Cersei is arrested by The High Sparrow for sleeping with Lancel and Osney Kettleblack, even after Robert's death. He even mentions something along the lines of Cersei being a victim to the known wickedness of widows. So Alicent would be screwed if people caught her breaking that ideal maternal image, especially with a man under her employment.

Christ is the Latin word for anointed and existed before Jesus was born. Names like Criston did not exist before Jesus and are variants of Christian. However, it is possible that an ASOIAF character had the title of "Anointed" and some of his followers named their kids, grandkids, etc. after the concept of "following an Anointed" (but I doubt Martin was thinking that much about it). Edit: Cole is the Middle English spelling of coal. The Anglicization of the last name Kohl is probably what it is because of this spelling.
